I am a Junior about to take my first semester of A&P my senior year in order to apply for Sonography programs. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how sonographers are perceived in the field, what a sonographer usually wears to work (scrubs versus lab coat), if the pay is really as good as the websites say it is (upwards of 60k with a certificate), what the job outlook is like and what opportunties I have for career advancement. Also if anyone has taken the SPI and any of the soecialty exams, how hard are they? I would love to connect with any sonographers or people who have worked with sonographers.
