To get Nova in your sig, click on user cp up top. Then on edit profile. Look for the sig section and enter it in there. This way you don't have to copy it every time you post. You see the difference when there is a line btwn your post and your sig.
Just want to thank everyone for their support of the website... 😀

Sorry to hear that, but UCLA is an excelent school. It must have been a tough choice, both schools being located in such beautiful places. Gook Luck to you!
It was a tough choice, but I think I made the right decision.
Good luck to you also on your career as a dentist! Or maybe a specialist!
Well, the website is almost finished. I did put up a message board and calendar, but I'm not completely satisfied with their functions. The message board is nice, but it seems too difficult to quickly check and post new messages. I liked MSN's message board, but I have to check and see whether they have a good calendar or not. I wouldn't want to set-up a message board with MSN and a calendar with Yahoo because then that would require an e-mail subscription to both websites. So for now, just wait a little before posting to the board because I don't want to get everyone used to Yahoo and then change it to another service. I really appreciate everyone's compliments about the site though and I look forward to its completion. 😀

The website is complete! I changed the message board over to MSN because Yahoo's just wasn't cutting it. Again, the website address is: http://www.geocities.com/nsucdm2008
If you know anyone who will be attending NSUCDM this Fall, please let them know about the site.

Hey kidcanada.....sorry this took me so long! I'm originally from north of Toronto (King City) and i'm now just finishing up at Queen's. How excited are you to be moving to a place where it's not snowing half the year!!?? But I will miss my snowboard.....
So when are you moving down to Florida? I am SUPER excited about Nova.

Anyone have dates (i.e. orientation, registration day, white coat ceremony, beginning of classes, etc.) or news that I can post on the website?

I see that you put on the site that the first day of class is August 2nd. Did you confirm that? Also, when would orientation be then? I just wanted to know to see when i need to start a lease. Thanks! By the way, the site looks great!

I spoke to an adcom at Nova today... they had a record application from last cycle, 2000+ for the 100 spots. That's 1:20! - Nova must have something making all these people apply.
JRogoff: Thanks for providing Su-Ann's #... she was a big help, and strongly encouraged me to apply next month.

Its easy to get in

You can't make a comment like that and not back it up. Lets hear your ingenious theory.....
In my opinion, no dental school is "easy" to get into. Yeah, it might not be as hard as Harvard or UOP, but its definetly not easy.

No problem Mo, anytime. Tell me when you come for an interview next fall (i'm sure you'll get one) and we'll definetly meet up. Good luck! 🙂
You Bet!, watch out for me this fall.JRogoff said:No problem Mo, anytime. Tell me when you come for an interview next fall (i'm sure you'll get one) and we'll definetly meet up. Good luck! 🙂

I honestly think Nova has more to offer than I originally thought... but yes, I will let you and JRogoff know when the time comes... How far is Nova from Miami?
I'm a Miami native, so i'll take this one. If you're comming from Miami International to Nova, it will take you about 35-45 minutes on average. The drive time varys greatly due to Miami's traffic, especially around the airport. If you are planning on flying, i suggest going into Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood international. This is a much shorter drive, about 10-15 minutes on 595, and flights are uasually cheaper here. If you're asking in terms of night lifw while in dental school, south beach is about a 45 minute drive from the Nova area, again varying greatly with traffic. If you need any more driving times and such, i'm your man! 😀

I drove from Miami through Ft. Laurendale before... I don't remeber how long it took me, but I know it must have been less than 1 hr. How far is Ormond beach from the school roughly?, Nice to hear South Beach is only 45 mins away. 😎
What is the cost of rent like outside Nova?

Orientation information is now posted on the website:

I was told that you can complete the paperwork early if you want, but there is no rush in completing it.

is that a yes? - it's so nice out there. Where I am (in Boston), th weather here is sub-zero most of the time... and I'm originally from a country located on the equator and the indian ocean.
I just want to here more positive things about Nova 😉 .
JRogoff said:Will all those items be sent to us, or do we have to print them out off the website and send them? I ask because the checklist form mentions forms that are not on the web site. Thanks Chris, your a big help as always.
From my understanding, all the forms that are on the website will be included in the orientation packet. However, there may be some extra information in the packet that has not been posted on the website yet.
Chris
^^^^ Anytime 😀
For anyone who hasn't posted to the class message board yet, here is the link to both the website and message board:
Website: http://www.geocities.com/NSUCDM2008/index2.html
Message Board: (link is also found on the website)
http://groups.msn.com/NSUCDM2008/messages.msnw
Starting this coming week, the process of switching to Nova's servers will take effect (hopefully) since all the required paperwork is complete. By the end of this week we should have a Nova address. I'll keep everyone updated. 😀
