Hey all:

I know this might sound like a crazy idea.. but i would like to hear everyone's honest opinions about it. Thank you all in advance for reading my post 🙂

I'm finishing up my orgo 2 and physics 2 this semester, which are the last pre-reqs i had left to take. My GPA is 3.94, not counting 21 college credits i took in high school which are also A's. have volunteered at the hospital for 10 months, have shadowed a DO and plan to shadow another one soon. I've also had leadership positions at my university, and worked at non profit organizations. I will have 93 credit hours after this semester.

My question is: I plan to take the MCAT this august. If i do well, do you think it would be worthwhile to apply to NOVA this year for next years class, even if i don't finish my bachelors degree ? I'm confident i want to attend Nova and become a DO. Thank u all, GOD BLESS YOU!

You can apply without your degree (which most do) with the intent of getting your degree before entering. You can also enter without a degree (although few successfully do)...but I don't see that would be an issue for you. Most universities require around 120 credit hours to graduate...you should easily have this in the next year.

I say finish your degree--you should be done before school would start anyways. Is there a reason you don't think you would have your degree before August of 2006?

Also, I would not wait to see how you do on the MCAT to apply...send in your application in June.

Well, i don't think i would have time to complete the upper division, since I haven't taken any upper division courses yet. A lot of my credits are from high school dual enrollment courses I took. Thanks for your advice! 🙂
