Hey guys, I'm working through this book solely to prepare for the physics portion of the MCAT. Anyone who has worked through this book have any insight on how good this book or if it is an accurate reflection for what will be on the MCAT. Thanks
interesting thought....It's kind of fishy when people with 4 total posts boast about TBR. I really want to buy it but I can't help but wonder if TBR employees are out there self-hyping, especially when it seems like TBR has taken every possible measure to make buying their books as difficult as possible.
👍I'm sorry if you guys thought I was boasting about TBR (and, for the record, I definitely don't work for them!) -- I personally find their passages helpful, but I'm also using NOVA and TPR for physics and think those materials are good too. My only point was that NOVA Physics problems don't seem to be representative of MCAT problems -- especially because the majority of the NOVA problems are not in passage form.
I don't post very often, but I've been lurking since last summer and have gotten lots of helpful advice from this site. I just wanted to "pay it forward" by sharing my thoughts about NOVA practice problems with the OP.
How does it make any sense that a company would make it difficult to get their books, yet they would have employees go around boasting their product? Seriously TBR does not need more people boasting about their product as there are already plenty of satisfied customers already doing so. It's not right to accuse a company of doing that, unless you had some serious evidence for this kind of thing happening. I assure you I'm no TBR employee, I'm in Texas and I've been registered on SDN since I was in high school. It's kind of fishy when people with 4 total posts boast about TBR. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. They would make a lot more money by making the books easier to get than by hiring people to hype them.To throw you off!
After hearing a lot of good things about NOVA, I got it too and I'm pretty much finished it. I feel much more confident about physics now than I did when I only used EK. That being said, I don't think NOVA represents comprehensive MCAT physics prep. EK has some intuitive systems (e.g. optics...) and ways to solve problems that hardcore academics like the writer of NOVA would scoff at. I am also cross-studying it with other companies like TBR and TPR to fill in the few gaps that NOVA has. Nevertheless, 500 practice problems, a lot with passages, are invaluable.

thank you-finally someone who answered my question 👍 (and it only took 11 posts)
