A lot of times I don’t bother logging in so I end up seeing all of the ads on the site. With all of the recent discussions about APPs and such, found it a little ironic that an ad for a 100% online DNP degree would be here while reading the EM forum.

Almost all of them are completely online. Welcome to the future of healthcare. Cafeteria medical degrees.

Scrolled up and sure enough...........lol. SDN where students become doctors.......of nurse practitioning....

I bet the server for this forum costs some bucks.

The uptime guarantee they have must be pricey. Imagine how triggered the Pre-meds and med students who live on this forum would be if it went down on match day or something.

Those are placed automatically by Google, we don't select what displays there.

While we could ask Google to block these on the site, I'd like to look at it as NPs are paying for a site exclusively for doctors. What a deal.

Is this a site “exclusively for doctors”? Because it doesn’t seem that way most days with the non-physician and often even non-medical posters on here.

Unless they restrict membership to only docs, vets or med students, it’s hard to limit the public from stumbling into the forums after google leads them to sdn.

Thank you for the site.
That said: the quoted response feigns ignorance regarding advertising.
This site is not "exclusively for doctors".
And there is no way anyone here (admins or members) is beating Google when it comes to advertising. Their entire empire (current market cap 775 billion) is based on VERY carefully directed advertising.

I'm not sure what you mean in regards to beating Google or feigning ignorance regarding advertising?

The ads that display NP programs are served through Google adsense. We can put limits on broad categories of ads (say adult sites, etc) they display. When we see a specific ad we don't think is appropriate we can also ask Google to selectively block it.
