NSU ADCOM decision on 1st round interviews

Hey guys I posted this on the interview thread but have gottent no reponse. Does anyone know when the first round interviewees are supposed to here about the ADCOM decision. I think they were meeting today and I was told they would email us, but I didn't ask when. Today? Tomorrow? By March? anyone know?

They are meeting today. I think we should hear starting tomorrow. Do you remember if its everyone that gets contacted via email or only acceptances?Anyone have an idea from last year? Do rejections come via email as well?

Email Dr. Chaffin, or call him directly, I don't think they just email you your status. At least last year, I had to email him and he got back to me within a couple hours(and you will know by the title of the subject what your decision was)!!! good luck yall

Dr. Chaffin is no longer with the medical school admissions. I tried to email him last week and got a form email reply that he had taken another position at the university.

I know and I have waited till the last minute to buy airfare for a couple of my interviews and it is going to cost me a fortune to wait any longer. 😡 😡 😡

I got an answer via email just now, all of the files were sent to the Dean today to be reviewed and we should have answers this week. I hope we all get in, especially all of you who interviewed with me on the 20th!

I have very little knowledge about this whole process. I know a lot more about law school admissions and the process involved there as my wife has gone through it. The only time she crossed paths with Deans was when scholarships were involved.

From what I've heard, there is almost no scholarship money when it comes to Med School. Perhaps, some schools have a very small portion set aside for dirt poor individuals who have cured AIDS or revolutionized the health care system of a small impoverished country.

So, is NSU just "Dean Centered" with the Dean approving all decisions or is the dean looking at possible merit scholarships to be offered along with acceptances?

I just spoke to someone in the admissions office and she said that they were just waiting for the letters to be signed. She couldn't tell me anything else over the phone. I guess that means we can hope for tomorrow.

Hey I was in the first rounds of interviews at NSUCOM also and if im not mistaken the addmissions comm meets at the end of every month. This means we should hear by this or next week I guess. The guy said by email and regular mail so well see, GOOD LUCK!!

My girlfirend (who works at NOVA ,..ie NSUCOM) told me that the school will be closed until Tuesday of next week so those of us waiting for interview results may have to wait till next week. Suck uhh...Anyways Ill keep you guys updated on any changes

Just to let you all interviewees know that NSU is closed until at least tuesday due to the hurricaine. They postponed our biochem test and anatomy exams due to this but I thought I'd let you all know. Things are a little ansy here at the moment but I thought you guys should know that.

If your asking about NSU we are right now scheduled for class on Tuesday. Plus a written exam in anatomy on Wednesday. WOOO!

Oh...and Francis may look much weaker than a Catergory 4 but its still a hurricaine. I'm south of where the eye will hit and I am watching trees and lampposts here get blown around pretty good....I'm wondering how much storm we are actually going to get here.

The weather channel is calling for a lot of wind, power outages, and up to 12-24 inches of rain for our area.

Well.... it's Tuesday, if anyone hears anything let us know. I called my family in Miami and they said the hurricane missed them for the most part.

I live in Miami - things are pretty much normal, I know Broward had a little more damage than here and more people are without power there. Local news last night said that NSU is re-opening today. Fingers crossed! 🙂

I interviewed on the 20th of August, I called NSU-COM on Wednesday of last week they told me that the decisions were made and the letter were sent either Wednesday or Thursday..... I ask the secretary my status and she said the files were in the Head of Admission office and she didn't have access to them... Hopefully we get the letters today. NSU is my first choice and really would like to go there, but either way I just want to know a decision, I hate waiting......

My guess is that when they told you that they might send them out Wednesday or Thursday, they weren't sure about closing yet. Unless the letters did get sent out Wednesday, they probably went out today. Unless we get a call or an email, we probably will not hear for a couple more days.

Mail just came, there was nothing from NSU. I am tempted to call.

I just got off the phone with NSU and the letters were mailed out on Wednesday before the hurricane, so tomorrow probably.
