Girls lay out topless on south beach?

I'm a Miami native, so i'll take this one...

South beach is only topless for 1 block of the beach, between 7th and 8th streets. So don't get caught with your top off/pants down anywhere else, you will be arrested. (And no, i am not speaking from personal expierence)

I also just wanted to say hi to all the Nova D.O. students. I hope the relations between the D.O.s and Dental students are good! 😀

There is also a beach in Hallendale that was (and might still be)totally clothing optional. There are signs on the north and south ends of the clothing optional sections. But, that was just what my friends have said....

Hey HoodyHoo,
How's it going in Florida? Enjoying every last minute before school starts? I'm in some podunk town in British Columbia right now in a hotel. Drink one down on the beach for everyone not going to med school in Florida. Later.

You A$$waxer. yeah i've been going to the beach. But it's only so fun going by yourself. I feel like that creepy guy who just sits there and looks at all the hot girls. but it's hard not to when they walk by you wearing nothing ya know?? Have you figured out an apartment at SLU? or are you still hoping for a miracle at Iowa? anyway, enjoy BC, I hear they have tasty treats there 🙂 .

Notshorty, I went to Ohio St too, class of 2002. Nice to see another buckeye from cloudy Columbus to Ft Sunnydale... 😎

First off, congrats to you guys. One hard step is over with. Now you guys are gonna start the first year of the hardest at least two years of you life. I commend everone for even attempting this. There are a couple of things you should know upon entering NOVA. First off, enjoy the first year, it involves a lot of work but make time for life. I would go ahead and talk trash about the attendance policy but you already know about that. (I hope) I will say to you guys that this year is not going to be easy. But it won't be without it's fun.
The M2's are going to look after y'all and do our best to make sure you have a good year. I'm determined that all of you will get thru anatomy and neuro...

I know we get wireless (802.11b I think) from NSU while we're on campus. I'm not sure if they give you dial-up access at home.

Hey everyone...for all of you who will be needing priate loans, do any of you have any recomendations/preferences?? Its my first time applying for fnancial aid, and i havent a clue what Im doin!! Thanks

if so we let me know so we can meet up

Can you believe that in a little more than a week we're goin to start school...wow. :luck:

In about a week and a half things get fun!

WOO HOO!

Though I think that orientation week is going to be fairly nice ...its after that the gears really kick in. I am getting excited.

I just drove to orlando for the last few days to work a bit and see some old friends. Man, the turnpike is super sweet to drive to Orlando on. I did my drive today in like 2.5 hours at least. It was only 210 miles. It rocked. Though the 14 dollar turnpike fees one way suck.

I am getting more and more excited cause when I came back today I had a ton of emails on the nova account where people are already in the area. Soooo exciting. Anyway, me and my roommate (also a med student) are just chilling out here most of the week. If anyone is bored and wants to chill out too or grab a drink...give a hollar!

In the mean time I am thinking of a little sun and a little beach. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Heres a little scam/trick a friend of mine taught me to avoid that hefty toll.

First you need to get yourself a sunpass.

Second, when you get to the first toll where they give you that little ticket, you stash away ur sunpass in ur glovebox so it wont read, and pick up the ticket.

Thrid, when you get to the toll where you pay like $10 or $12 bucks(Turning in ur tickte), you bring out ur sunpass and and drive through the sunpass lane. That way it reads like if you just got on on the previous exit, and not all the way from Ft Lauderdale. That way it only charges you like $3 dollars and change. You save about $20 round trip(give or take a buck or two).

Just thought ud like to know for ur next road trip! 😀

See u all in a couple of weeks.

If this works...you will be my hero...seriously my hero.

I will be driving to orlando quite a bit every now and then to pick up a shift or two (and ride a ride or two after work). Mainly during breaks and periods I don't have any tests jsut for a few bucks cash.

Ooooooooooooooo. I have to try this now.

Future classmates,

Does anybody know where I can get a good car for around 3000.00? I'm also looking for a desk. The desk I can go without for now, but I just don't see myself peddling to school from pine island road wearing a shirt and tie 🙁

I'll get to know the pine island driver very well...since my apartment complex is on pine island. I have found a decent travel path but I have yet to test it in the morning commute.

anyway, now that schools is pretty much a week away do any of you think we should move this thread to the osteopathic forum from the pre-med version?

Please move from this forum. One thousand posts is enough. Perhaps you can be a barista at star bucks!
Have a nice life!

Iliacus,

I sent you a PM about your car situation. My dad is a used car dealer in Platation.

Definetely!! I was in Orlando about a year ago and it worked great. All you have to do is hide/put away your sunpass when you get to the toll where they give you that little ticket. The when you get to the toll where you turn in your ticket and pay, like $10+ bucks, you put up your sunpass, and the machine reads it like if you got on the turnpike at the previous exit as opposed to the exit 150+ miles away 😀 😀 And that way you only pay something between $2 aqnd $3 bucks. And the sunpass has been a great investment for someone like myself who uses the turnpike often. Im never fidgeting around for change and you never have to actually stop at a toll.!! hop 😀 e this helped

Where are your ethics??? Do you even care that what you are doing is wrong? Stealing is stealing. If you think it's ok to cheat the system, It makes me wonder what else you are willing to cheat at...

Did you pine island natives know there are official "pine island ridge resident" ID cards? Robz, if you do become a barista at starbucks in between your trips up north and studying medicine can you give your classmates a discount 😀

If the system is flawed and unfair are you still supposed to go along with it? What if they consider it an unfair tax? With your attitude we'd all still be getting over taxed by the Brits for tea and huddled in colonies...and forced to like soccer and the spice girls. They're just following in the footsteps of the founding fathers of this great land of ours. Dave, robz, and doc here's to you 👍

You are comparing the tolls to an unfair tax? Are you kidding me? First of all for your information the colonists were upset because they were being taxed without representation. But to get back to the subject...if you have an issue with paying the tolls then take I-95 or US1. But the issue at heart is cheating the system. Do you really think it stops at the tolls??? I am sure that as long as there is a flaw in the system people like you think that cheating is ok and that there is nothing wrong with it. I am sure that people who cheat on exams and plagiarize think the same. It makes me wonder what kind of doctor you are going to be. Just because you can do it does not make it right.

Btw if anything our forefathers tried to strive for fairness and justice...not stealing/scheming/cheating in order to gain.

Well, they did all own slaves and that can't be too fair or just 🙁

And to say someone isn't going to be a good doctor because they don't like paying a silly toll fee...

First of all I said "strive for fairness and justice" and also did I not mention what was the issue at heart????

I knew you were a boy before I confirmed it by looking at your profile...just like most men to not listen to the *BIG* issue (which by the way was that cheating is wrong and that it usually carries over to other things...it wasn't just about the tolls).

Ethics? Since when did ethics and government work together?

Is it ethical to increase the gas prices on the thruway by 15 or 20 more cents per gallon cause they know you can't get off? Is it ethical to charge the non sunpass toll payers more money cause they don't use sunpass? Is it ethical to make sure there is a steady flow of traffic on the thurway yet I-95 is always backed up and makes a 2.5 hour trip into a 5-6 hour trip? Is it ethical to make I-75 a toll road through alligator ally so the ONLY options of going north without a toll road are state route 27 and I-95?

There is a big difference in governmental ethics and medical ethics. There is also a big difference in working the system and cheating the system. Cheating the system is not paying any tolls and having an illegal box or charging someone elses account....working the system is using the tools given to you, not modifying them and finding a weakness to the system. Personally, I'm sure someone someday will find it and fix it.

Your NOBODY to question my ethics...NO I dont care if its wrong. And we're all broke college students anyway. So if Im trying to help a couple people out by saving them some $$$, deal with it.

If your being soooo judgemental on me on some internet forum, I hate to think of how judgemental your going to be on your patients! You must be mentally exhausted with all your criticism.

Arguing that you're exempt from doing something because you view it as flawed, or unfair, or too expensive becaue you're just a poor medical student +pity+ reminds me of the person who conveniently forgets their wallet when they go out to an expensive dinner with a group of people. Get over it an pay like 99.9% of the people do.

You're not making a profound statement by cheating the system...just making yourself look like a tight-wad.

Wow, this thing has gotten out of hand. But I'm pleased with how the so called "tight-wad's" rebutted you critics. Doc hit it on the head when he pointed out how judgemental some people can be. Thank you Doc and hopefully, although unlikely, some may dismount from their high horse. If the government increased our taxes to 50% should we just get over it and pay it? There's a huge difference between CHOOSING to go out to an expensive dinner and having no choice but to get screwed with a silly toll. Especially with the government waste so prevalent.

Just because someone feels better falling in line with the 99.9% of the people out there who can't think for themselves and don't mind handing over money to the government so they can waste it, you shouldn't critisize those of us who don't.

This is a question of Ethics Doc, and by you doing this it only shows your character. Although this may seem like something small for you, it's a big thing for other people. Did you know that the money we pay in tolls helps on the maintenance for all your pretty little roads out there, it also helps pay for the salaries of the people that take in the tolls, which it might be the only job they can get to feed their families. But it seems like you are too unaware of the real world to realize that. Oh and you surprise me that you have to call cgt names in order to back your arguments, so my advice is for you to pick up a book sometime. 👍

Ahhh thanks for clarifying that you don't care if it's wrong.

Do you even have a clue what kind of responsibility being a doctor entails...the kind of trust that people will have for you? With that kind of power over people- YES I am going to be critical of you. Maybe you will get it when/IF you start out as an M-1.

And I think it's funny that you have to resort to calling me names 🙄 How old are you again?
