Nurse practitioners have become more autonomous than ever these days. Nurses out there taking the MD route, why didn't you just do the NP thing? NPs have their own clinics now...etc. What is your reason for going the long route (MD)? Just curious.

Can NP do surgery or cardio, nephro, endo, neurology, psy ? Just curious.

NPs can work in just about every area of healthcare, but they cant do the job of a physician.

NPs are far different from physicians in their scope of practice. It all comes down to what sort of autonomy and scope of practice you desire.
