Does anyone have an updated list of internal medicine programs in NYC (specifically Manhattan) that accept the COMLEX? Am I relegated to taking the USMLE as well if living in Manhattan is a *big* factor in my residency choice?

Better yet, is there a master list somewhere of ALL institutions, allopathic or osteopathic, that accept COMLEX?

Should I put most of my eggs in one basket during my fourth-year clerkships so I can be sure I get a spot in the city - ie, is it that competitive for medicine as a DO?

I don't know that such a list exists. You're best bet is to search for programs via the Osteopathic Opportunities site for osteopathic residencies, and FRIEDA for allopathic ones, and look at the admissions information for each.

If you absolutely must be in manhattan, however- taking the USMLE will only help.

You have to contact the individual program. Pretty much every ACGME residency program says on their webpage that they accept USMLE and/or COMLEX scores, but you don't know what they prefer unless you ask.
