Hi! I was recently accepted to both NYIT-OW and LECOM-B and am having trouble deciding where to put down a deposit. I am leaning more towards NYIT based on the impression I got during the interview but it's the $$$ that is getting to me a little...
NYIT-OW
Pros:
- Location (I am from the Northeast and want to say around the northeast after medical school. My family also lives around the area, outside of NY but close enough... Also a good spot for my S.O.)
-Seemed like they had a really great sense of community and were collaborative. Had a variety of volunteer, research opportunities. Overall I just got a good impression from my interview.
-P/F pre-clinical years (?? I am still not 100% sure on this if anyone could clarify lol)
Cons:
-High cost of attendance/living
- I keep hearing mentions of high attrition rates?
LECOM-B
Pros:
-Low cost of attendance and living
-Am interested in the PBL curriculum (not sure how well I would do in it though)
Cons:
- I am not sure how I feel about the school overall. I did not get the greatest impression.
Overall, I want to choose a place where I will be happy and have the most opportunities to build my resume/application for residency and beyond. Any advice and/or information would be appreciated 🙂
