Please help me decide. I know that both schools are fine schools with long lasting reputation and respected institutions. Both have great board scores, research opportunities, and match results. But there are only a few factors that make me unsure.
I’m interested in EM and general surgery mainly. But will keep my options open. Would also like to do academic teaching in the future.
NYITCOM
Pros:
- pass/fail
- closer to home (2hrs drive)
Cons:
- expensive ($63K+) and high cost of living
- larger class size
VCOM
Pros:
- cheaper tuition ($43K+) and lower cost of living
- higher match rate
- smaller class size
Cons:
- not pass/fail.
- far from home and support system.
- heard that it is currently on probation(?)
