Just wondering if anyone who interviewed in February has heard back from NYMC? I interviewed on February 15th and haven't heard anything yet. No news = good news. I know they say it takes between 8-12 weeks... but has anyone received a decision?

i interviewed on february 5th and haven't heard anything yet. We wait , we wait. Please keep this thread going so that we can start finding out when Feb. interviewees have heard.
 
I interviewed way back in October and even then they took 10 weeks (and one day to be exact) to let us know - so I would expect to wait the full time. I can't imagine they've gotten any faster over the course of the application cycle.
 
interviewed on 21st...nothing yet
 
It took almost 13 weeks for me to hear back from them. I interviewed in Dec.
 
I interviewed on Monday Jan. 22 and heard back from them on Wednesday April 11.

so if it took them till last wednesday to get back to you... i can only imagine how much longer i'll have to wait. this is terrible!
 
Has anyone send a letter of interest/update yet?
 
So all January peeps got decisions?

Send a LOI to NYMC. It helps to increase your chance to acceptance!
 
Does anyone know if NYMC has a set day of the week that they send out decisions? or is it pretty random?

I think its random. I got mine on a Thursday afternoon by email.
 
Since Jan 1, it takes app 11 weeks between interview and acceptance by email. I think waitlist/rejection is by snail mail. Your waiting for a reply will get shorter as we enter May 15 period, when a lot of students dropping out of safety schools like NYMC and Drexel. These are not bad schools, they are just second choice for many. Make sure you send them a nice LOI the end of April, and again May, June if necessary.

I know an applicant to NYMC was interviewed in Jan 07. On thursday morning of the 10th week, he sent them a short email saying that he loves the school and is still highly interested in them. The next Monday morning (which is the 11th week), he received an acceptance email in the morning from NYMC with an acceptance package arriving in the mail 8 days later. It may be a coincidence, but it never hurts to tell the med school that "I WANT to come here real bad!" Good luck!
 
Anybody from the Feb 15th interview or later hear anything yet?

i have the same question...i interviewed feb 6, and was wondering if anyone heard yet?...i will hit the 11 week mark tomorrow, and still have heard nothing...im crossing my fingers!
 
If you call the NYMC, they will tell you if the decision is coming up this week or not.

I interviewed February 6th as well... no e-mail as of this morning..
 
just called NYMC, they said decisions for February 6th interviews will be out this week.. fingers crossed eight times over
 
I received an email acceptance this morning 4/23. Interviewed February 6th.
 
szrokkhmer, if you don't mind, do you think you can post your stats (mcat/gpa)..or pm me your stats...thanks...i hope this 11-12 weeks wait comes with good news

Just received an ACCEPTANCE email this morning, 4/23, as well!!!!
NYMC HERE I COME!!!!!!!!
I interviewed on February 15th.

sent a LOI after the interview and didn't get an e-mail today.. what a process

i know what you mean keyser112...i sent a letter as well, but nymc doesn't seem to care much....i guess ill just have to wait for a waitlist letter or rejection letter soon, since i've been waiting or about 11 weeks now...gluck to you

I received the email at 10:45 a.m., but it had been sitting in my inbox since 8:49 a.m. I don't think all the decisions have been sent out, I'm pretty sure they also send out acceptances on Thursdays. So keep cool. Good things are in store.

Did you send a LOI or something? Man... after how many weeks, are you likely not to get the email? Also, I sent them an email about my status and telling how intersted I am, but they never wrote back...

After my interview I wrote a thank you card to the woman who interviewed me. About mid march I sent a letter of update/intent via snail mail because I really loved the school and much had changed in my academic profile since August. I'm now double majoring and have been doing research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer center for several months. I ever got a letter back, not even an acknowledgment till today.
 
o... o... Im thinking about going AmeriCorps but who knows what might happen. If I get in before the end of May then...

interviewed feb 5 , just got an acceptance this morning by email... im psyched!!

no no i definitely did not get an acceptance.. i was being sarcastic and saying i was waiting for my waitlist/rejection letter in the mail

Whenever the committee made a decision...was your status page updated and did they say a decision has been sent in the mail?

even though i was sent an acceptance email, my status page still hasn't changed.
 
For anyone who received an acceptance recently through email, how long did it take for your status page to eventually change? Also, how longs does it take for the acceptance packaged to come via snail mail?
 
Acceptance package comes about 8 days later by snail mail (to Cali). You have a lot of time (up to May 15) to make a $100 deposit and sign the letter of intent. NYMC is not too strict with the deadline. If you don't get the package within one week, call the office. Don't worry about the status page. When you deal with a few thousand applicants, you get behind. Congrats to your acceptance!
 
just wanted to post on this thread since i interviewed in feb.....unfortunately, i was waitlisted on 4/23....i really want attend nymc next year, so how i guess i'll have to wait till june (hopefully they can tell us earlier)....gluck to everyone that is still waiting for a reply..hang in there...

Thanks for the update FutureDoc. I interviewed in March so it's nice to have a rough idea of where they are in the applications.

has anyone tried to log on to their status page? I just tried and it won't let me...does that mean they've cancelled my account and I got waitlisted/rejected? I interviewed in March so I'm not sure what's going on...
