NYMC Post-Interview Notification???

anyone know when the next batch of NYMC decisions will be released? last notification date (according to "sticky" acceptance thread) was 12/20, and the one before that was 12/5.

i tried calling, but they have these preset dialing options, and "post-interview status notifications" was not one of them... 🙄.

I'm basing this off last year's threads on NYMC...last year they sent out a batch of notices post-interview right before Christmas (like they did this year). Then they took a whole month to send out a ton of interview invites (a ton of new interview invites have been posted up for NYMC in the last ten days or so).

The next post-interview decisions were announced Jan 23 last year, so if they follow the same pattern like they have been we should hear next week! :scared: I know I interviewed on Nov 8, so I will likely hear next week since they made it all the way through October in the decisions they released before Christmas. If you interviewed much later than I did you may have to wait another two weeks after that, as they usually send the decisions every two weeks (except for this weird group, that I just happen to be in).

G'luck :luck: I really loved NYMC and hope I get an acceptance there in the next few days!

I too am basing it on the same calculations from last year. However, I interviewed on NOV 19, Scowdeva do u think i'll get the notification next week or in another 3 weeks?
 
I'm waiting too - interviewed Nov 6 - and so anxious to hear! Here's some luck for us all next week! :luck:

Ehhh... ok? They email AND they send out an official letter. This is the real deal, and I was just trying to help out those who are waiting to hear. Anyway, good luck.

According to the sticky acceptance thread, they do indeed email out acceptances. Congratulations to Ibpal (if you're for real, that is)! I'm actually freaking out now because I didn't get that email... 😱 I thought I had a great interview 😕. Hopefully they have more emails to send out :scared:!!!

Anyone else receive THE EMAIL from NYMC? Please post!
 
Oh, my heart just dropped...if the person who said they got the email is a troll, they are the worst kind! If someone else got it please confirm, with dates if possible. I'm walking out the door to go to my Temple interview, and after the past few days I've had, this is just more horrible news on top of everything else

Calm down everybody, he is not trolling. They send both. They send you an email first and instantly, and then you get the official terms and conditions a couple weeks later.

I interviewed late october and got the acceptance email 8 weeks later. The official letter came a bit later.

And don't start "freaking out" just yet, they take a lot of time (probably because they get a lot of apps) so it means nothing if you didn't get an email yet.

Sorry for the misunderstandings ibpal, you can understand that the process is stressful and sometimes it can make us a little punchy. Thanks for your input and welcome to SDN!
 
Haha, no worries at all. I have never been called a troll before, but I've been called worse things many times over (and over and over and over) 🙂. Hang in there, people...

Ibpal do u mind telling us when u interviewed. I interviewed on Nov 19 and am very anxious to hear. Just wondering how close ur that is to mine?

Also i think the reason people called u a troll is b/c usually when acceptances are emailed out they are in a batch, so multiple people confirm that they were accepted. Now I am wondering if they send out acceptances individually, or if it is just coincidence that all the people that got accepted this batch aren't on SDN, except you? The other scenario is that u are a troll, but who knows.

I interviewed on November 8th. I loved the place when I visited, and I'm so happy to be admitted! I am also surprised that others haven't confirmed that they were accepted yesterday. Don't quite know what to say about that...

Ibpal, who were you? I also interviewed that day.....I was the lone person from Michigan. Remember me?

(Did not receive any kind of email)

I know that there is a decent network of people who interviewed that week here on SDN, I've been talking with at least three regularly since my interview and none of them received any communication from NYMC.
 
Here is why I am still declaring BS, most times when the acceptances go out there are multiple responses on SDN. This time there is only one response and it is from a person who has never posted before. And by the way I am not applying this year so it doesn't matter to me.
 
interviewed on 11/12. havent heard anything yet.
 
I interviewed on 11/5 and still haven't heard anything. The space below "Decision" on my status page is still blank, although i'm not sure anything actually goes there after they decide.

Actually, were you the girl who was sitting at the front in the morning session, near the drinks and stuff? I know she was from Michigan, and her mom picked her up at the end of the day...

And IV Doc, you're dead wrong. I have better things to do than fake an acceptance...

I guess only time will tell but I say next week there will be several posts from people who actually received the acceptance emails after they interviewed in Nov. Once again why believe an anounamous forum where anyone can post anything. By the way I spoke to an admissions committee member today from NYMC and he said they are only accepting people this year with names that start with J, k, N

Ibpal, she went to the U of Michigan...but she was from Connecticut. I was a different blond girl, with a gray suit, but my mom did pick me up so you might just be blending both of us (or her mom picked her up as well). Sorry for being so quick to assume that you were BSing, but I'm sure you understand that there are quite a few of us on here that are now crushed that we didn't get that email. NYMC was my top choice, and now the best I can hope for is to get a waitlist notification in the mail in a few more days.

Hah! Thanks! The other Michigan girl was picked up by her mom as well. I loved how you all quickly jumped to the conclusion that I was a troll. May you all never jump to a wrong medical diagnosis as quickly 🙂. Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys.

Well, odds aren't in our favor now. Plus its weird to think that out of all of us interviewed in that time frame, the only one on here that they accepted was you...every other time they sent out acceptances there were 5+ people accepted on SDN. If anyone who lives close gets the letter in the mail, should be there tomorrow or Saturday, please let us know! It'll take a while to get mine, plus it goes to my parents' house...

Scowdeva, I feel ur pain, although i interviewed on Nov 19 and mostly likely won't hear until next cylce of decisions. However, u might want to call NYMC and see if they rendered a decision on ur application. From what i understand if they had, they would tell u so and tell u that it's in the mail. That's one option that's quicker than waiting.

I am a current second year at NYMC, and there are several people that I interviewed with who are currently in my class. However, people heard at different times, so dont lose heart-- your acceptance may be coming. What I can say is that NYMC does send an email which is followed up by a letter in the mail. I hope that helps.
 
I interviewed 11/26 and I can't wait to hear back from them. This wait is terrible. If I don't get in, I'm off to DO school.
 
Acceptances come by e-mail and waitlists come via snail mail...
 
I may have reached a new low, but I just spent a while searching on MDApps and found four profiles that interviewed before Nov 10 that have not received a decision yet...two of them listed New York as their location, so they should have received their letter in the mail by now if they were waitlisted or rejected...I realize that people may not update this religiously, but the different sources of people with no news makes me think that they may not have released all of the decisions for this time frame yet. I'm sticking with expecting a flood of acceptances next week, following the schedule they usually follow (observed from threads from past years).

I realize that this may be grasping at straws, but maybe they haven't made decisions on the files from that group. Ibpal might have been an exception if he interviewed on Nov 8, maybe his interviewer couldn't meet the last time and somehow his decision that was already made got sent out early? IDK, but there's a decent number of people that interviewed then that have heard nothing yet. We may still have a shot guys! Don't give up yet! I just refuse to accept that about 10 people that interviewed then ALL got waitlisted or rejected...at least a few should have gotten in, even if I didn't!

Scowdeva, I agree that someone should have received snail mail if decisions were made Wednesday for the early November group, and no one has posted on the rejection thread or waitlist thread. I interviewed 11/5 and have been waiting in a state of perpetual anxiety (constant email checking, heart pounding as I check the mail). So here's to having hope still and thinking positively--hopefully we'll hear good news next week!

Yeah, my mail already came today...and nada. I know I live in Michigan, and its a bit farther away, but I get mail from Florida in two days so I'm sure it wouldn't normally take too many longer than three to get something from New York. Sadly, there won't be any more mail until Tuesday, but I think Wednesday or Thursday some people will get the email acceptance. I hope those of us that really want it, and loved NYMC (including myself of course) get that email! I'm rooting for us!

no news... just bumping my fav thread 🙄. the last bit of waiting (i.e., i'm on week 14 post interview) is SO EXCRUTIATING! it's good to know that others are in the same boat, though :hardy:.

Neurochic, when did you interview? Also, are you from the east coast? I'm perplexed as to why I didn't get anything in the mail yet...
 
Bad news. My waitlist letter came in the mail on Sat afternoon. Its dated 1/16. Hope you guys get better news - best of luck!

im a current 2nd year med student at NYMC, and ran into this forum looking for the basketball schedule for IMs. Anyways, I just wanted to say from what I remembered, that I was put on the waitlist in january for NYMC. I interviewed in midNovember. I was sent an email that said i got bumped off the waitlist in March.

Im one of the tourguides for the school, and from what I remember from last year, is that they usually interview roughly around 3 x's the amount of students for a spot in the first year class. Im not sure how many people the accept and put on the waitlist though. However, the people who get accepted might have multiple acceptances, and so decline NYMC, and the people off the waitlist get bumped in. I'm not sure how many students do that though. I just want to say being on the waitlist isnt the end of the world, because it might be probable that youll get bumped into the class. Yep. Good luck and cheers.
 
Well, I'll fess up...just called and found out that my letter was there. And I got rejected. That's a nice kick in the balls, that they met me and hated me. Ah, well. What can you do? G'luck to the rest of you!

I interviewed 11/5 and now got the waitlist letter. 3 interviews and 3 waitlists. Awesome! 🙄
