I feel the same. Every day I come home and look for the purple NYU symbol on all my mail. It was one of my best interviews too.

yeah, i've been looking for "NYU" as well... and i nearly had a heart attack today when i saw "NYU...." but it turns out my dad is on the School of Continuing/Professional Studies' mailing list. 🙁

bumping up. good luck to us again as we await some kind of news.

Any of you get acceptance letters in the past few days? being 20 min outside of manhattan I would image the letter should come relatively quickly, right? UGH, this is killing me

For whatever reasons, it seems like mail from NYU takes a LONG time to get out...maybe by the end of this week... =(

Finally, the mailman is here.
I peep through and
one mail catches my attention. could it be the one?
it sure is not a white envelope
with shakey hands, i open my mailbox
the envelope is not white, it's not pink either.
it's brown
quick look at the address tag and.................
it's not mine. it's my roomies random mail
How exciting. I have to go and lower my blood pressure now.

Yep, was not sure what to expect.
But now I know.
I read my letter like 10 times in the last half hour, no kidding, just to make sure it's true

Nuno, that's awesome - are you in NY? Congrats!

I am so happy I can say that now.
Do you know what time on thurs it starts?

Just got my acceptance today in Philadelphia. Interviewed December 19th, and the letter was postmarked Friday, February 3rd. Good luck to everyone!

hey so does this mean that if you don't get a letter pretty much today, that you didn't get in?

Congradulations to all those that were accepted.

Side Note: Got an acknowledgement of the receipt of my deposit today from NYU. Addressed Feb 1st. I live in Jersey.

I think it depends on where you live. I live in CA and interviewed on 12/19 as well so if they sent out those letters last Friday, I expect my mail wont get here until Wednesday or Thursday. After that I will give up hope.

guess what guys? iwas waitlisted. called today and was able to check my application status over the phone. Good luck to everyone else. At least i dont have to hold my breath anymore............. see some ofyou guys in other schools.

Sorry, temmie 🙁 . That's disappointing... if it's any consolation, I hear the NYU waitlist is a good place to be. It's not over yet.

I called twice today. The first time the secretary would not tell me my status. The second time she broke the hard news - waitlist. But I'm with temmie. Atleast we know.

yeah thanks, that's what i heard. Instead of been disappointed, i am actually okay. It's cool. I know i will get in somewhere else, i have other interviews at great schools.soooooooo thanks a lot

To everyone on the waitlist, we should have a party together,at least we made it in so far and if what i have heard is true, we stand a good chance of been pushed into the school.

Lift up your spirits guys, i am proud of us.

Good luck with all!!! No matter what, you are going to be a doctor 🙂

Hah, now I'm getting really nervous. I've already been accepted to a few good schools, though, so if I don't get into NYU I won't be terribly upset. The second look weekend looks like so much fun, though! 🙂

This is probably a dumb question, but I am seriously wondering. For second look weekends, what do people just wear? Do most people just wear jeans and t-shirts like they would to class, or is this too an occasion to get dressed up? (I hope it's not).

Dude when did you send out your check? I sent mine on Jan. 31, and no receipt yet.

With a broadway play on the agenda, I'd assume something a little dressier than jeans are a necessity, I think the other events will prob be casual tho. I'm gonna have one set of casual clothes, one set middle dressy (khakis/coat), and one dressy (suit). That way I'll be covered no matter what people are wearing. Unless someone else has more specific info.

good call, thanks! Not like I'm gonna be at NYU's second look weekend, but I do have another one to attend. Hope you guys all have fun 🙂

How'd you get her to break? I can't get her to break!!! Haha.

are people still getting acceptances even?

My guess is that we're in the crossover period right now. We'll probably start getting the bad news in the next few days.

For those attending the revisit weekend, are any of you planning on going to the Saturday night activities with The Office of Diversity Affairs and Black and Latino Student Assoc? The dinner and club sound like fun, however, my concern is that I'm white. Yes, it says everyone is invited to the "extended activities," but I don't want it to be too awkward (as in they invited everyone cause they had to, but don't really want everyone to come), so just curious as to what other people are doing.

Hahahaha. How very funny, seeing as I was in the same predicament! Except I'm Asian (still not Black or Latino though, hm?). I am staying over on Saturday night (and catching an early Sunday morning flight) but I wasn't sure if it'd be better to go to the activities planned or just find some people who wanted to explore on our own. Now that I think about it, I can't remember how I RSVPed, because I couldn't decide for that same reason!

I'm white Latino.
I am going.
If you guys are coming, I am sure you are more than welcome.

i can't decide if i want to fly to new york from california for the revisit....anybody flying to nyu from california for the wkend??

Anyone get any supplemental information about the revisit weekend yet in the mail? Anything officially telling us to fill out that online thing? I think I'm just gonna do it anyways

Flying from Hawaii. It's really hard for me to pass up any reason to miss class at this point.

I was told to check out the online registration site by the office of student affairs when I called in (I had called to ask about the start/end time so I could book a flight). So I think it's okay to start filling out the online form (wouldn't quote me on that though!)

Got mine in the mail today. It comes with the same packet that is online in PDF format as well as a printed version of the submission form online (w/ a prepaid envelope to mail it back). I already submitted the online version so I'm wondering if i should mail this one back too.

In the second-look information I got from another school (Case), they said that casual clothing was appropriate for the weekend, with the exception of the evening with dinner and a show, which should be business casual. I'd imagine that similar guidelines would be appropriate for NYU.

Lots of people go to Broadway shows in jeans, but it always feels like such a special occasion to me that I wish everyone were dressed up. I'm gonna dress up. So there!

Hey did anyone get any financial aid document from NYU. I didn't, but i already started getting some from other schools that have some really close priority deadlines so i am just wondering if I missed something with NYU.

As far as I know (according to numerous phone calls w/ NYU's financial aid office) all you have to do is fill out your FAFSA. They don't start processing their aid packets until +/- May
