docvanszz first of all congratulations for your acceptance ,
dou you know for sure that there are about 4000 applicants at NYU ,
it happens to be that I have not been called yet , the hope is the last thing I want to loose , but you throw that number and it kind of scare me a little bit ,
if that number is right I will cross my fingers , and if it isn 't a fact I will still keep crossing my fingers and in that case please not to give out sary numbers just for the fun of it ,
anyway congratulations and hoping to be on your same boat since june ,

hi... my intention was to share the info not to scare anyone... Tooth fairy is right they calling 400 applicants for interview this yr, but im talking about the no. of applications that came in this yr... last yr they called 900 applicants for interview, so u can well imagine the no. of people who apply to NYU every yr... but its the quality that matters not the quantity... so have faith in urself... good luck...

Let me correct your figures, last year 930 applications received but for sure 900 people were not interviewd , is it possible for faculty bussy in teaching ,research and clinic to spent so much time and effort on 900 people.

Regarding GPA, one of my friend got in with 86/2.45 .They look at the whole package, not only the score. So people with low GPA dont lose hope.

He got in 2005 actually, but last year student with NBDE1 85 with 3 gpa was accepted.Hope it helps.

NYU looks for Good GPA but though you have a GPA BELOW 3 in dental school and if you are doing masters in USA , your masters GPA would be considered.

no, not due to reappear, its just that in mumbai university they do not give u enough marks, thats why.

I called them on thrusday, they told me that they were going to mail me a letter that day..but they didn't tell me whether it was an acceptence or rejection..
Lets hope for the best.
