Hi everybody, don't forget that we are when schools have to look for a divers student body. Your GPA from your own country... not important. Everybody knows what I'm talking about. If somebody with a GPA of 3.5 gets 82 on NBDE than, not very good, but let me tell you and ask anyone that got accepted that experience working in US is by far the most important. Letters of recommendation from faculty if you attended a college here is crucial, from a US trained doctor is very important too. So, let me place them in order. You have to have all the papers that school are asking for, just to have them check the boxes. Then, you experience in US, letters of recommendation from a US faculty, (your teacher), letters from US trained doctor that you WORKED for, then your cultural diversity or something special that you can bring to the program. I have been around for a long time so can tell you being comfortable with the patients and being able to know the cultural differences plays a important role in your acceptance. The interview is critical too, you have to prove that you are eager to learn and that school that interviews you is capable to teach you, and you are willing to be community oriented and go and serve the community whatever you may live in.
