NYU College of Dentistry Class of 2025 Interview/Acceptance Thread

Hi! Does anyone know if NYU will be sending out more interviews for this cycle still?

Does NYU send acceptance letters via email? I’m curious because I want to know if I was offered any scholarship

that’s what i’m wondering too. i got my acceptance through the portal but no information regarding scholarships or anything. during the interview they said they usually offer some but it’s not much because most of it is funded by alumni, so idk if they offered any this time around
So I got a scholarship, it’s a separate letter from the acceptance and the link to it should be at the bottom of the acceptance letter. If not you could email then and ask for info about it?

I emailed the admissions office to ask about scholarships. They said I was not selected for any scholarships. Just wondering what are the requirements to get a scholarship.

Can anyone share some interview advice and tips for NYU?

Really know about the school such as the opportunities it can provide you. They also ask how you manage your time a lot. In like 3 different ways.

Tuition is crazy. Cost of attendance would be 140k per year I think.
the estimated cost of living is scaring me. i know it's nyc, but is finding affordable housing that has a reasonable commute (less than an hour) to the school really that hard?

140k is probably the most realistic for incoming dental students because it's just easier to live 10 minutes from school. However, if you have time and are frugal, you can probably lower that to ~125k (100k tuition, ~25k living) but you're going to be living in the outer boroughs with a 30-60 minute commute. I think if you have time, you def can find roommates by July. However, do you really want to pay almost 600k here and be frugal?

I did some calculations for the class of 2024 and came with the following options. I live at home and my parents are also contributing a small portion it's not that bad for me, but it's pretty bad if you don't live here. Below uses an estimation of 3% inflation, and 4% tuition/fees hike.

Anyone who sees these numbers and thinks it’s okay is crazy. Good luck paying that off while making 120k before taxes. NYU should be everyone’s last choice unless you have some sort of significant scholarship

Wow, thanks for sharing this! All those numbers are insane. I didn’t want to rule out NYU just yet, but there’s seems to be literally no way to attend affordably (for those moving there, but your situation isn’t as bad so good luck)

thanks for the breakdown, and good luck with your interview!

I went to grad school after undergrad and also took a few science classes after graduating, so it's a bit unclear for me what science GPA schools look at. When I downloaded the ADEA NYU application to look at my calculated GPA there is a "Science Undergraduate" section, "Science Graduate" section, and then a "Science" section.

Do you know which one schools consider as the official Science GPA?

Thank you!

Is it too early to send a letter of intent? I sent NYU admissions my updated transcripts after this semester directly. Can I also send a letter of intent or is it too early?

Who were you planning to send the letter of intent to?
