Hello everyone,
So I applied to NYU Dental in late August, had my interview last week and was waitlisted a couple of days later.

My interview went phenomenal, over an hour long, real connection between me and the faculty.

he told me my scores were good and i would be a perfect fit for the institution.

MY gpa is 3.4 and my SGPA is roughly 3.1. Upward curve in grades, freshman year a bit of hiccup but then great solid scores after

I took the DAT 2x (NYU SUPERSCORES)

1st attempt:
AA: 19 TS: 19 Math:18 RC: 21 PAT: 17 Bio: 18 GC: 18 OC: 22

2nd attempt:
AA: 19 TS: 20 Math: 18 RC: 17 PAT: 16 BIO: 20 GC: 20 OC: 21

Superscored form:
AA: 19 TS: 20 MATH: 18 RC: 21 PAT: 17 Bio: 20 GC: 20 OC: 22

I have over 250+ shadowing and 500+ volunteering. they were definitely an asset to my application. i also had 7 LOC

I have showed a lot of interest in the program and sent in multiple LOI.

How do I gauge to get off the waitlist ASAP? Please help

lol just be patient.
im assuming this is your first time applying which explains the hyper-active anxiety im sensing

failure to get into dental schools for one cycle is not the end of the world.
calm down

yes, i am. Does this have any significance?
Just wondering and confirming if NYU mostly interviews applicants from NY which seems to be the case. You have a better chance of getting in than any OOS applicant.

a lot of the people sitting with me in the interview waiting room seemed to be mostly OOS

Based on previous stats, they mostly interview IS applicants but it could be that the majority of those are done pre-December.

trust the process
NYU interviews a TON of people and has a HUGE class size
many people drop out when they get into cheaper schools

This is what happens when you apply with low stats.
I hope you get in but if you don't, pursue a masters degree. You'll get a lot more interviews
