Hey everyone! I was wondering if any of you recently got an acceptance email from NYU. I got an email last week, but they are sending the information to my school address, and since I'm at home for the holidays, I won't get back until January 15th. Can anyone let me know when they expect a reply and the deadline for the deposit? I tried contacting them, but with the holidays, it's been difficult. Thanks so much!

I am pretty sure they give you 30 days from the date of acceptance.

I got the acceptance letter dated Dec. 16th and my deadline for the $500 deposit is January 16th.

Hope that helps!

how do we pay this? the offices are closed and i have not received instructions as to how to pay this.
thanks!

From NYU website:

http://www.nyu.edu/dental/bulletin/admission.html

Candidates who have been tentatively accepted for admission must inform the Office of Admissions of their intention to matriculate according to the following guidelines:

Candidates who have been notified of their acceptance during the month of December must submit a required $500 deposit to the Office of Admissions within forty-five (45) days after receiving official notification of acceptance. This $500 deposit is nonrefundable. An additional $2,000 deposit (nonrefundable) is due no later than May 1.
Candidates accepted after January 1 must submit a required $500 deposit to the Office of Admissions within thirty (30) days after receiving official notification of acceptance. This $500 deposit is nonrefundable. An additional $2,000 deposit (nonrefundable) is due no later than May 1.
Candidates accepted on or after April 15 are required to pay a $2,500 deposit (nonrefundable) to the Office of Admissions within fifteen (15) days after receiving written notification of acceptance. The remainder of the tuition and fees for the first semester is due according to the schedule for registration.
It is expected that by the day of enrollment each candidate will have paid one-half of the annual tuition cost and the total cost of instruments. Failure of the candidate to comply with this requirement will result in his or her name being dropped from the list of prospective students. The admission deposit is a guarantee of the candidate’s good faith and reserves a place in the class pending the fulfillment of all admission requirements. The acceptance is tentative, contingent on the filing of a complete and satisfactory transcript of record with the Office of Admissions at the College of Dentistry not later than the date of registration. The admission deposit will be applied toward tuition.

That's strange, i got a letter from NYU dated December 16th with acceptance without the interview, and a week ago I got another letter form them that I have to pay the first deposit of $500 by January 16th that's 30 days later, not the 45 stated on their website.

😕 :scared: 😕

I just got their acceptance and deposit letter today.
They also told me to put down the deposit of $500.01 by January 16th. I received the acceptance email on Dec 19th.
So i guess it's Jan 16th for most of us to put down our deposits.

After Dec. 1st the deadlines will keep getting shorter and shorter. In the spring, schools usually only offer a 2 week deadline with deadlines becoming as short as 1 day in the early summer.

You all talk about receiving Letters from NYU...Do they notify you via e-mail or snail mail letter///?

NYU send you an email and snail mail letter about admissions.

NYU sent me a letter dated dec.7 stating that i have been accepted, but it did not mention the deposit. Did you guys receive a separate letter asking for the deposit or did they just forget to put it in my letter?
Should i just send them a money order with my name on it, or is there a supplemental application that they require?
thanks so much for your help! im so lost with the admissions office closed for holidays.

The request for the deposit is a separate letter. Since you were accepted early in december and still have not received the deposit letter, call the school when they open after the break.

there is no supplemental application needed.

thx for the reply! that helped a lot
