I just got an email requesting a fax of my summer and fall grades for further review. I guess this is good news since my summer and fall grades were good.

i already got my bachelors degree but they still asked me for fall grades. does this mean they are just sending mass emails or that there is an error and they don't realize i've already graduated and maybe this could be something keeping me from getting an interview?

I have not received anything from nyu since I have applied, and when I called to get my status( back in september) they said my file was complete. I have never received any updates what-so-ever, is this normal??

It doesnt matter if you have your bachelors degree to get an interview as long as you have the degree by the end of the summer.

ok sooo i was at the nyu admissions office yesterday cuz i wanted to know if sending the fall07 grades in is mandatory etc etc (since i didn't do too well...)

the lady there told me that only certain people under review got this email...so that we should try to send them in....

i didnt do too well... so im scared those grades will harm me more than help me. any thoughts on what to do??

If you don't send them in, then your application will probably sit there "incomplete" and it will not get processed further. Send in your grades and hope for the best.

I've got the same problem. I didn't do so great but I will fax them my grades first thing monday. I am sure they are not considering our application complete w/o the transcripts ....

right but it just didn't make sense why they asked me for fall grades when i am not in classes since i've already completed my degree. I was confused because i hope it doesn't mean that all this time they were putting me on hold waiting because they thought my status was different than what it really is.

From the sound of it, the message that you received was just their generic messaging for applicants that they might want to interview. With the sheer volume of applicants and interviews they give out, I don't think that they would spend time sorting out who did what and when - rather, just saves time for them to ask for folks to send in stuff that they might not have. At the very least (if you want to go there), send them a personal letter detailing what you have done that is dental related since sending out your application - it's better than nothing.

I would send an email directly to Dr. Mejia, better yet, call and ask to speak with her directly. I had an issue with my application just sitting there and would not have been accepted had I not taken the initiative to get Dr. Mejia involved.

Second that. NYU has so many applications, I think some of them unfortunately end up sitting in a pile.

I got an email too. I am hoping to get an interview there. I've fax my grades to them. I think you guys should too. If your application is strong, they would invite you for an interview already. If they said you are still under review, it could mean that they are still reconsidering you. If you did good on your classes, they may give you a chance. But if you didn't do so well (I mean C's and D's), I think it may hurts your chance a little bit. I went to see the admission couselor at my top choice school last year (after I got rejected), he told me that they are really looking at your current classes at university level. He said community classes are not very impressive eventhough you got A's. Please share what you think about this?

If you know the name of your interviewer, you might be able to find their email in the faculty directory.
