Hi guys...

I got an invitation letter from NYUCD by email today...
But, I have totally no idea for the school.
Please, share some information for the interview like the interview length & procedure, airport, hotel, etc....
I didn't find these on the interview feedback page.

GPA 3.7 / 3.7
DAT 1st --> 19/19/20, 2nd --> 19/19/24 3rd --> 21/21/20

i flew to and stayed at newark airport, then took the NJ transit to penn station and then just walked. only took 20ish minutes to walk there

I did the exact same as prydA and recommend doing so, especially if you've never been to NYC before.

I just made the schedule on 14 Nov because they said the first week are all filled up.
I've never been there, and even don't go East over the arizona...

AADSAS sent my application on 21 July, but my new DAT score was reported around 25 Sep because I took it on 26 Aug.....

Haha i'm originally from Stockton but live in Santa Barbara right now. I used to live in Brookside, in St. Andrews the gated community....I lived on Spanish Bay Circle, now my family moved to Morada.

As for my NYU interview, I flew directly out of Santa Barbara. However, my girlfriend came with me (we stayed for in NY from Wed-Sun). She was going to fly out of Sacramento but it was more complicated, less time slots and more stops so she flew out of San Francisco directly there to Newark. She did fly back to Sacramento there though. As for traffic, I stayed at a relatives near 42nd and 10th street. All I had to do was take a bus to 23rd street and another from there to 1st street. Total travel time for me doing that was 20 minutes and it cost me only 2 bucks one way.

I have still have no idea.... I searched airplane schedule. It take 8 hours to get there...... It is almost same time to go S. Korea from San Franscisco... (I'm from S. Korea.)

19/19/20 and 19/19/24 wasnt enough for any schools that you applied to??

unfortunately, where 19/19 would have been awesome a few years back, it is now very average.. often average isn't good enough when you're trying to distinguish yourself from thousands of applicants with similar stats.. though that high 3.7 GPA should offset that, shouldn't it? i'd like to know OPs answer to this as well..

Anyways, congrats OP on great 3rd DAT and GPA, you'll do very well this cycle 🙂

Hmm..... I think I still need more score to be safe.... That's why I took DAt 3 times.
In the 1st and 2nd year, I didn't get any pre-Dec inverview. In the 2nd year, I went 3 interview for altenative position, but I didn't made it.
I'm an international student, and I cannot speak in English fluently like you guys. So, I want to make more impressive score, but I didn't get that much higher score.
Is it enough to explain why I took DAT 3 times?

i think it's extremely hard for a 19/19 international student to get admitted in the states (but maybe i'm wrong?). i think with a 21 and 3.7 OP is going to get in.

In Korea, I got a BA & MA degree for Engineering and Finished Ph. D course works.
I prepared the pre-requisites in USA (I took 94 credits, and upper division courses too)
hmm... 19/19 is not good score for international students... I think.

Don't think they update on AADSAS. They sent me an email saying that my app is complete, yet there's nothing on AADSAS.

The average Matriculant DAT AA is 19.43, and that's including averaging in the DATs of Puerto Rico (15.3) and Meharry (15.7). Also, that is the 2007 data; it can only be higher this year. The point is that 19 AA is very average for a dental school Matriculant. You know that 19 is above average?

Maybe 17 or 18 is average for an Applicant.

This is not to discourage those with a 17 or 18, tons of qualified applicants get into schools with a 17 or 18 every year, on the strength of their GPA or extracurriculars. However, the point I'm trying to make is, where did you come up with the basis to disagree with me? lol

those are matriculation averages per SCHOOL. I was talking about the average score people get on the DAT test. The average is still around 17/18. Lets say there was a curve that showed 10,000 people who took the DAT. The average score on those is 17/18.

again, those were matriculation scores. you can still get plently after december interviews with 19/19.
