NYU interview invite. Is it just random?

Hi guys, I know quite many of us got interview invite from NYU. I just wondering the procedure that NYU follows to offer interview.

It seems quite random; applicants with very solid stats like >3.9 GPA with >22 AA just got interview while people with similar or even slightly lower stats already got their interview about a month or two ago. Do you think it is just because they are sending out the interview randomly? or Does earlier invite reflect something positive than later invite??

I'm guessing it's due to the sheer amount of applications that they gotta go through. My stats are pretty good IMO but I haven't heard squat from NYU yet... But then I didn't take my DAT until mid-Aug and my app wasn't complete until late-Aug so I'm guessing that my app is sitting at the bottom of their pile lol 🙁

I really have no clue how they do it. I submitted my app in the beginning of August and 3 days later I got my interview.

If it makes you feel any better I did not hear back from ANY schools yet. Including NYU. Hang in there, we will make it through together 🙂

I think at this point , its kind of random. I've seen people with similar stats to me who applied around the time I did or even later get interviews before me. I'd say just wait it out and they will eventually get to you. I received mine this morning .They get >5000 applicants so it probably takes them alot longer to get through them. Also, they interview all days of the week, and when I called today, the next date was November 1st so there are still plenty of pre-december dates left!
