Just out of curiosity, is there anyone out there who has been denied from NYU or BU. Chances are, if you haven't been accepted to dental school for this coming fall, then you're probably not checking this message board. But anyone know of rejectees from NYU or BU?

I am not afraid to admit it. I was originally placed on hold at BU because they told me to retake my DAT. I later told them i wasn't going to retake them. They outright rejected me eventhough i pleaded with the dean on how i thought that scores weren't everything. So yes, if you don't have at least an 18 chances are BU will reject you, although everyone pretty much gets an interview. My heart isn't broken though, because i was accepted to two great schools.

I know of someone on this forum who has been rejected after going to NYU interview... and i am on the waitlist...

Pumpkin, i heard somone was told at their BU inteview to retake the DAT and was put on hold (or waitlist). later he sent them a later saying that he wont be retaking the DAT. a week later he received a letter of acceptance. i dont know his stats though....
persoanlly, i am still waiting for an interview from them!!!

hi comet, when did you get a waiting list letter from nyu. actually i am a international dentist from india and even i received a waiting list letter from nyu. do you know what are our chances to get off from the waiting list. do you have any suggestions. thanx in advance.

shammitandel;

i got my waitlist letter mid January. the letter says i have been waitlsited due to enrollment pressure, but i know someone who interviwed after mid Jan and his acceptance letter was dated the next day!!!! i think they still do have spots left, they are just saving those for the applicants with higher grades than us. what i have heard is that NYU takes a lot of people off of waitlist...till the first day of classes...
good luck to you!

Waitting Comet!

p.s: when did you get yours?? when did you inteview?? there was this dentist guy frrom India at my interviw who was applying for advanced tanding program... i wonder if thats you!!

hi, i was interviewed on oct 31st and recieved waiting list letter in november. i dont know what they look for in an applicant. i have a ndb part 1 score of 91 and my gpa is 3.24.
p.s: i am not that person.

HI,

I was also put on wait-list. I am patiently waiting for their decisions. I hate this part ..Anyway, I know that if you are committed to retake the DAT and improve the score, I am sure you'll get in. I just hope they could give me a response ASAP. Good luck to all of you.

I got into BU, interview was on Feb. 21 and was accepted on March 3. I am very privileged, because as a Canadian student, I did not recieve as many acceptances, and also because I wrote my DAT late. My application was very good, and so was my grades. my dat scores were average.

I saw some people being rejected after interview. Just wonder how? He/She must have above average status to get an interview and what factors make the schools reject him/her? Just curious.
