NYU Sent Email telling people to send Letter?

i read somewhere on a different thread that LAST CYCLE
in january nyu sent people who werent invited for interviews
an email telling them to send a letter if they were still
interested in nyu....

does anyone know anything about this? is it true?

I guess we'll wait until January to find out. January still seems a bit early for this though.
 
I had this not with NYU, but with Indiana. These schools interview a lot of people, and their waitlist moves very fast because most people with multiple acceptances will choose a cheaper school or may have a preference for another school. They ask for the letter to weed out those individuals who are no longer interested and leave the applicants who really want to go there.
 
yep, if you look up NYU treads from last year, few people mention receiving such email... somewhere in Jan schools have no knowledge if the students got accepted somewhere so they try to concentrate on students that are still interested... makes sense to me...
