Nyu Waitlist

As people are waiting, I was wondering what the wait-list scores are like, and if any of you could say the lowest part 1 score you heard about that got accepted into NYU2009. I am curious because I have an 82, which is low, but I have some work experience and decent gpa (3.0) and I am wondering if people look at that.

Even though you have work experience and a good GPA, unfortunately an 82 wont get you in anywhere these days. You should try and improve your part 1 score
 
one of my good friend got into nyu from waiting list , he got the acceptance just now , this is some info for waitinglisters , so waiting list is movin as well

Yup it's moving. Someone I know got an admission offer yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately for me due to pressing family reason I had to defer admission. So good luck waitlisted candidates...one more place is available now.

I am in too...just recieved my acceptance today.....some of my good friends got in too...after a very long wait ...we all have gone through nightmares of wait.Thanks to all in this wonderful sdn world who support each other so much......let me know if i can be of any help to anyone.

May I ask what your part 1 scores were? What was the lowest score you heard of?

after a long wait i got the acceptance letter yesterday ,man tht is a great relief .thank you very much for the SDN people for helping me.wish good luck for everyone.

I also got accepted yesterday. It is a great relief after this long wait. I don't know about the lowest score, but mine might be the lowest GPA .... its 2.7. Thank u all the fellow SDN ers for the support.
 
Does NYU look for experience, have people got in with long breaks in experience.

Thanks for not missing me .......it took a long time to come so far......its hard to do all the stuff fixed on time ...we all might be missing half of the stuff on orientation day.....well no complaints........congrats to all

My husband is still on the wait list and I'm beginning to give up hope. Everyone was taken off the waiting list on the 19th and 20th I guess. Does that mean that they will no longer be taking people off?
 
..guess it's time for me to stop thinking about DDS and look at other options. I didn't get any letter from NYU and I have been waiting from March '05 if I remember right.

I know its very frustrating,but dont give up.I agree with dentistjas.

called up NYU just now. The lady didn't even check up on my name. Just said if any decision has been made, I would be getting a letter from their side shortly.
 
now...what is that supposed to mean?did not check up on ur name? 😕 😕

err.. when you call them up to find out the status, they ask for your last name and check on the comp. if there has been any progress. Now I just wished 'em and told them that I had called up to enquire about my application and voila, got that particular reply
Looks like they have Voice recognition installed which tells them "IT'S AJAYDAS...CUT THE CALL!!!" lolz 😛

NDB- 94
GPA-4.0
TOEFL- result awaited
NO WORK EXP IN US/INDIA- now that's my problem(grad this july)
do u think i stand a chance esp in the west coast schools? also coz am out of practice for a loong time...
wud appreciate any kinda of input

With your scores, I believe any college would love to have you!
If money is not a major issue, just go to NYU and check it out. I agree I haven't seen many. But I feel NYU is the place to be in.

firstly ,accept my heartiest congratulations!a fantastic score,indeed!btw,is that gpa being evaluated by ece?....with your stats,i dont think getting into a prog.will be really difficult!!!!!moreover some schools ask for a toefl score of >250(cbt)...unfortunately,i dont have the ibt-cbt score conversion chart handy....!so anywayz, try getting a good toefl score and start applying!if u r pretty confident of ur hand-skills ,then i would suggest you to apply for the california schools and univ.of colorado at denver,where the bench test /hand skills/psychomotor exam is really really taken into account!eastern schools like bu and nyu are more into high scores.
you are the best judge of your abilities!if you are interested to join the cal schools then join some course/prog.which will help you to hone your skills!..but again...itz just a suggestion!
