Don't give up...NYU is all about knowing someone inside if you want to get accepted. They don't select based on your credentials.

Oh yeah..U get extra points if u r Spanish.

Don't worry about NYU. I too received a rejection. They work on a completely different basis. They don't take your stats into consideration. They have an entirely different criterion. Known contacts, diversity etc.
