My plan is to prepare for the January MCAT, so that I can take it again or take it at a later date if I do not feel ready.

Unfortunately, I had a bad freshman adviser who told me to wait until sophomore year to take gen. chem. Because of this, I will be taking O. chem 1 this fall (Junior year) and O. chem 2 this spring. Is it stupid of me to take the TPR course this fall, while taking O. chem 1? I am not asking about the course load, but the fact that I will not have a strong basis in O. chem, while taking the MCAT prep class. If it helps at all, I have a 4.0 cGPA and haven't had any problems with past science courses.

Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Orgo lab isn't really necessary for the MCAT. You just need to understand simple concepts like simple distillation, fractional distillation, extraction, crystallization, chromatography...

You can just study these topics from the book.

Also, do you need the second semester of O. Chem for the MCAT? I have done a little research and have seen many conflicting answers. I am really hoping to take it early, so that I can apply early (I've heard it helps a lot).

The bottom line is that you MAY need 2nd semester O Chem for the MCAT but you may not. My MCAT was very light on O Chem but very heavy on Physics believe it or not. You just don't know so you have to study everything.
