So I just transferred and my in my first quarter I screwed up in my O-Chem 2 class. I'm on the border of a D+ to a C. Should I take the C if my professor gives it to me to move onto Ochem 3 and redeem myself by getting an A, or ask my professor to fail me so I can retake the course and get a better grade (it would apparently calculate the F and new grade into my gpa). My transfer gpa was 3.81 and not having any classes here, my gpa would be about a 2.0 and I'm planning on applying this summer for dent school. What do you guys think?

I don't know. But F will appear there.
Take the C, then take the class again, to get an A and you get the average .. Even if you didn't take it at your school, take it outside and get an A in it.
Just to prove, it was really a one time only.

Take the C and redeem yourself.. it's better to have a C then an F and have to retake the class again.. wasting time

Got two C's in orgo 1 and 2, got into two dental schools. Do not take an F.

Take the C, failing is far worse. I agree to retake it - if you have time and are positive you would get an A. Otherwise, move on and do well in Orgo 3. Good luck, and let me know if you need help finding orgo resources. I was a tutor, and can rattle off a million places you can check out for help.

An F will really drop your GPA. Take the C and do better next time.

First off, take the C, absolutely.

But... Question... Why would you ask your professor to fail you? Can't you retake the course if you get a C-? Am I missing something?
