I was looking at my transcript from a school I attended and I took General Chemistry there twice, once getting an F and the next time an A. But on my transcript, I see it twice with both grades listed. Will AACOMAS strictly use the higher, more recent grade?

This just seems odd because I am also working a straight GPA calc without DO retakes and I am not sure if I should count each attempt at one school or just the most recent. I know that my college only calculates the most recent attempt but not sure how it would be done by say an MD school or post-bacc program. I am guessing if it is at the same school, they only take the most recent attempt into account, not all of them.

Thanks!

For DO school, your GPA is calculated based on the retake; the F will not be included at all.

For MD/Post Bacc : probably use both grades which would in essence average them.

Even if my transcript at least signifies the course is a repeat?

yup; for DO school the repeat is what counts. Sounds too good to be true, I know...but it's the truth

So what if I my original Physics I course with Lab was 4 cr and earned a F then I took it at another university but there Physics I is 3 cr and I earn an A?

I ask because this is how it fell for me. At my last school, Physics I and II are 3 cr each and there is one 2 cr Physics Lab that covers them both.

You enter it like it is and mark your retakes as so. Best scenario they don't flag you for it - worst scenario they do and you have to fight your case with AACOMAS. Typically that includes obtaining a syllabus for both courses so they can be sure they're the same course. You won't know until after verification.
