HelenaP- I was wondering when you interviewed... I feel a waitlist commong on myself. =(
I felt my interview went pretty well. My student interviewer was a little distracted because she had "a quiz in one hour that she didn't know about." My other interviewer was a pathologist with quite the personality. He asked me if i had to choose now, would i pick pathology or pediatrics.... at the time i didn't know he was a pathologist. Tricky little man....
but besides that, i think it went well. They both seemed enthusiastic enough (for a pathologist, i mean.. 😉 )

Did this really make it to page 4? can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing.
Ok, so I got accepted at GW and waitlisted at UIC. I REALLY don't understand this random, illogical process! (And what kind of mean thing is that to do to your in-state students UIC!?! Let them get accepted at good out of state schools right away and make them wait on state decisions...) So my chances of staying in a city I know and love drop just a bit... service, if you really want to go to UIC, write them a letter of intent saying that you have been accepted elsewhere, and are willing to decline that acceptance if UIC takes you.
The problem is more of an ego thing. I wanted to get accepted right off. Really, I'd rather be at Rush or Loyola than UIC but I haven't heard back from either of them. Plus, if I went to UIC, I'd have to take two semesters of psychology before matriculation, which I don't want to do. So- all that to say I don't think I'll be writing them a letter. If this was Rush or Loyola I would but otherwise I think I'll do well at GW (loved it there, would be sad to leave Chi-Town). So, maybe it's better for my ego that I didn't get in right off... It's all about the journey they say...
