I heard that they do call- they received my application yesterday according to USPS but I bet it takes them a week or so to process the in-state residency form and to make sure they have my LORs.
 
Yeah, today seems slow on the interview front. This is sad.
 
Seriously. My inbox has been silent in regards to application stuff for a good week now. Other than maybe one or two notices of complete status, nothing. Boo.

Dude at least you're done with secondaries and are waiting on interviews. People are still chugging through them and they're incessant. I would rather prefer prepping for interview questions than to work on more secondaries and never getting a chance to do so.
 
I just got an email entitled "MD Invite" and my heat skipped a beat.

Turns out it was UVM confirming a conversation we had on the phone. Oh well, it was invigorating at least.
 
Checking my inbox has become an addiction, much like my previous addiction of checking THX for MCAT scores and hitting the refresh every two minutes. At least when secondaries were rushing in I had something new in my inbox. Now nothing. I need a fix guys. Maybe we should send eachother email to induce the placebo effect or something. Otherwise I might crouch in a corner and start foaming at the mouth while rocking back and forth and muttering the words "no mail in my inbox, no mail in my inbox..." That's it. I have completely lost it.

I'm still waiting for 2-3 applications... haha but I know. I don't envy people with all their secondaries to do still.

I've been verified for Tulane a while back but have yet to get an interview!! do you know how their interview invite process runs?

I have alot of extra currics, 3.7 gpa, and 35R mcat. thus far, only GWU. Hopefully I'll get some more interviews in the coming months.

You're well above both the average MCAT and GPA for Tulane. They might not offer you an interview if they think you'll get into a better school and wouldn't go there.

I posted in this thread yesterday about my call to Tulane yesterday asking whether my app had already been passed up because I'd seen people complete around my date who had already been invited. The woman in the admin office looked up my app, confirmed I had been complete since 7/20, and asked what my MCAT was. When I said 30, she started laughing and told me to be patient for a little while longer. She made it sound like it was a sure thing (although she didn't say so). And lo and behold, I got the invite today. I read on this thread from another person who posted yesterday that when they called, they were told that things are going kind of slowly right now in reviewing apps because the new first years are starting right now.

With your stats, I'd say that you're DEFINITELY going to get an interview invite. The only thing that I could imagine happening to deny you an invite would be if they're one of the schools that sometimes doesn't extend invites to people with stats much higher than their averages. (For once, I can be content with having a 30 over a 35, eh?) I think I've seen schools like Georgetown (and others) do that. No idea about Tulane though. But I'm guessing that if you have any ties to the area, to Tulane, or wrote a meaningful "Why us" response, it shouldn't be an issue. Good luck! Oh, and congrats on the GW invite! The more I've read up on GW, the better it sounds.

I called them as well and they let me know that it is under review. I don't have any ties to ANY school. =(

What happened to the wake forest invite. I've been nervous all week because I thought maybe they'd send one my way and they haven't yet.

Heh. They could be an international student. And I've heard of people getting caught between two states and not having bankable "residency" in either. Or maybe their state doesn't have a state school - only a private one, and they think that's not considered a "tie" to a school. *shrug*

Earlier today my status got changed at UCLA -- now, instead of having Supplemental, Letters of Rec, Transcript, & Final Decision..it has a space called Interview, under letters of Rec. Anyone else's change like this? Does this mean I'll be getting an interview?!
 
Heh, I don't know, but I would say that an applicant doesn't get an interview just because there's a blank space there. mine shows the same thing and my app isn't even complete. wait until it says that you can schedule an interview before you get excited.
 
Is this really the quiet before the storm? Is this normal? I am trying my best to be patient with the completions of my apps, but it's making me really nutty! I'm starting to think if I'm going to get in anywhere even though my gpa is solid and mcat is decent! Waiting waiting waiting....

Don't worry!! I got the Wake Forest invite on Tuesday and called to schedule... when I called, they said I was the second person who had called to schedule an interview, so it doesn't sound like they're sending invites out in huge numbers right now (although why I don't know.) However, my stats are very very similar to yours (3.9, 32) so I'd say you're fine! I am having the same worry problem with VCU and Tulane, though, so I understand. I have interviews at Wake, GWU, and UVa, but gave up trying to post because there are so many different versions of the list that are getting copied and pasted that it's impossible to tell which is the most accurate (For example, someone incorrectly listed me as having an interview at VCU, getting VCU and UVa mixed up) Oh well!
 
...I finally got my first invite yesterday! Last application cycle, I didn't get a single interview, just post-secondary rejections...shoot, I'm a WI resident and didn't get one at U of Wisconsin! (So I guess the rumor that all residents get an interview is false, btw). Oh, my first interview is at Case Western, scheduled for 9/18. 😀 Sooo happy.

Hm you had the same stats last year and didn't get a WI interview? I'm pretty sure both 3.7/34 are higher than the matriculant average for in-state UW matriculants. That's bizarre. I had friends get interviews with ~3.0 and 28 MCAT.
