I really don't think it is a possibility. How would that work for people like me, who have the same message but haven't completed the secondary yet? I think it's just a message they've put up for everyone. And 8/18 is another week away or so. It seems that they are only trying to get ready for that date when they will start handing out invites. I know things have been slow the past few days, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I guess it pays to get your application done as early as you can before admissions committees have to start making decisions like this. 🙁

Mine was a tad different... "The committee's file review indicates that they would like to consider your file further. We are now in the process of scheduling interviews and will continue to do so through February. Unfortunately, the committee indicates interest in far more candidates than we are able to interview. Since we are dependent on the Committee member's schedules for interview spaces, we are unable to predict when or if we will be able to schedule you this year. Please continue to check this site to learn when further action has been taken."

Ewh! I just got a snail mail letter from Penn State saying that they placed me in a category called "continue to review." I'm trippin' now. I have had most of my apps in for some time and its been so quiet. Don't these people realize they are responsible for the elevated blood pressures of thousands of people? AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Tell me about it, I was at home retrieving someone during my lunch hour and was on my way out the door when I heard my email notification from Gmail and ran to the computer only to find it was an email from Mayo saying they'd gotten my $85 and would now CONSIDER my application to determine whether I was worthy of receiving a secondary...

Yeah, I think they're the only school that does that. You pay money, then they send you the secondary if they feel like it (500 total) of which maybe 1/4 of the ppl get interviews. I feel like I basically just made an $85 contribution to their school, but oh well, you never know, I guess.

I got the same message today (8/9/2007) and Im a 32P / 3.7 with pretty decent EC's. However, I did get a 7 on VR

I have the same message, but it doesn't look like I'm complete. The secondary app is in for me as well. There's a button next to my LOR box that says "Requested", and when I push it, it has a message that says they are requesting more info and want my LORs. I already sent them, but if that button is there, I assume they haven't processed them yet.

That was a long way of saying "No, I'm not complete." Haha

I got the same message today (8/9/2007) and Im a 32P / 3.7 with pretty decent EC's. However, I did get a 7 on VR

When did your file get complete? I have similar stats, but haven't have my committee letter uploaded to them yet... my school sent it via virtualeval last friday 8/3, but they still didnt complete my file 🙁

No, you're fine. I think Baylor just gave out their first invites yesterday, and you were complete several weeks after the people that have been getting GWU interviews. Not sure about case or rochester. Anyway, sometimes the timing is random. I was complete the same time as some people at Tulane who got interview invites two weeks before I did. I know it's impossible not to stress like mad over this, but it is what it is. Try to find something that can take your mind off of this.... SDN is about the worst thing you can do if you're losing your mind over not getting invites. For one thing, don't read the interview invite thread!!!

I am right behind you. I thought primaries were difficult enough w/ the waiting time. I guess this is where all pre-meds learn the pain of the waiting game in life.
