My day was spent with the neuro peeps - I was blown away by that (Miami Project to Cure Paralysis = awesome). I loved that place, the downside (for me) is the cost of living in Miami.

Ah, to be back in Miami right now...(snowstorm today for the Northeast).

yeah, i guess cost of living is a bit of a downer, but if you like sun/surf, i'd think it would be totally worth it. i've also heard from a U grad student friend (math) that the people in miami tend to be a bit on the rude/pushy side. did you get that impression when you were there? of course, like myself, she's from tennessee, where people are almost too nice.

Ahaha, being from the Northeast, I found them normal/exceedingly pleasant (people at the school at least). I do enjoy your area of the South though, you all are incredibly polite.

I definitely need to head back for second look weekends at both schools, and really determine if cost of living is as big of a detractor as I think it is now (I'll be bringing my SO with me, so we'll be dual income at least). Miami weather = huge plus, I would plan on studying outside...

Thanks. I interviewed for MSTP. They consider MD and MSTP separately. You need to be accepted by the MD part first before they consider you for the MSTP, so it's like a two-part process. MD is rolling, and MSTP is not.

Yes, I did apply to a lot of non-rolling schools. And pickles is right in that the schools that are rolling are waiting to hear from the history department which won't happen till later this month. I am trying not to get worried but at the same time it is hard because I have turned down interviews due to lack of time so I don't want that to come back to haunt me. Even if I just had one in hand I would feel so much better because I would know for sure that I will become a physician-historian.

P.S. My whining on this thread just reminded me a lot of when I whined back in Sept about not having any interview invites and then a couple of days later I got my invite to Michigan. I hope my current post brings me the same luck!

Picklesali --No idea when CCLCM is going to get back to me. They sent me a letter saying that I was on hold, or something like that. I don't recall seeing anybody on this board getting accepted to it yet--maybe they are just waiting to interview everybody first.

You got in on your own merit - they would not have accepted you if they didn't think you were capable and talented and passionate enough to be a physician-scientist
