I have a question about Columbia's secondary...when they ask you for your science GPA do you think they mean just Science like aacomas...or the BCPM like Amcas... I know it seems trivial...but there is a .2 difference between the two for me🙂... calc II and stats and I didn't get along so well🙂

Mel🙂

I'd probably use AMCAS GPA to be consistent.

Try to PM LizzyM and see her advice as an adcom member on this issue.

Does NYU screen before sending out secondaries? Has anyone gotten a secondary from them yet? What about Mt. Sinai?

Just curious. Thanks!

I applied to both of those. I haven't heard from either yet.

On the EVMS secondary, they say they want two photos, and tell you to affix them to the top left corner of the application when you print it out. But it's a very small area . . . are you supposed to affix two rectangular photos to fit the square or what?

Also, there's a "recommendation form" on the site:

http://www.evms.edu/admissions/docs/recommendation.pdf

I'm not sure I understand their verbiage . . . if you have a committee LOR, do you still need to fill this form out?

Anyone submit the Johns Hopkins secondary yet? When I clicked 'submit', the page refreshed (maybe?) and gave me the same page. I clicked 'submit' again, and it did the same thing. I checked my email and now, I have 4 'you have submitted your application' messages from JHU! Now, I'm sure I only clicked it twice...

I didn't have any problems. It just brought me through this big maze of pages before it let me officially submit.

As a side note, that secondary was a pain.

Bump. I've only received one response and I want more opinions if y'all have any.

About that U of Cinnci prompt for the gap year. I didn't see that prompt in the secondary! I am graduating in December, so maybe that is why... Was that prompt on the page that asks you things like if you have been convicted of a felony or traffic violation or academic probation type stuff?

Ok so this is my secondary question:

In your own words, explain your motivation for seeking a career in medicine.

I've already addressed this in my PS..should I repeat myself? Or should I give more general reasons without giving specifics? There's also no word limit so I'm not sure how long it should be (i.e. the length of a PS or a few paragraphs or just one paragraph?)

Any advice would be really appreciated.
