Aw, thanks prettymonkey! I'll be celebrating my Columbia acceptance for a long time... heh... I'm also bummed we won't get to be classmates, but I'm super glad that lacrossefiend (Congrats lacrossefiend :hardy:) will get to join you at Rochester!!! I wish you guys all the best! Yay Rochester!

I've read SDN for a while but never posted anything. Could someone please add me to the waitlist movement for Pitt. I interviewed on Nov 16th, was waitlisted on Jan 15th or so, and I just got the call this morning. I couldn't be happier!

I was holding a spot at BU, so that will be opening up later today or this weekend. Best of luck to everyone still waiting. Good things do happen, so don't lose hope! Let your favorite schools know how you feel about them!

What kind of interactions with Cynthia Bonetti/Beth Piraino, etc have you had.... update letters, direct emails... Was there any indication from them before the call that you should remain optimistic?

Anyone who's gotten in off the waitlist, really, can answer...
 
Does anyone know how long after you get accepted off a waitlist can you hold tow acceptances. I am having a hard time figuring out if I can go to the school that accepted me off the wait list (logistics). I got off the list on Tuesday and i might no be a able to know for sure till this Monday. I don't want to hold two spots for so long, but I don't have a choice.

Between being waitlisted and being accepted, I sent two letters of interest, an updated letter of recommendation from my boss (a physician), and ultimately a letter of intent. I cc'd Dr. Piraino on the letter of intent, but everything else just went to the admissions office.

I actually only sent two letters of interest since my waitlist to Pitt, both of which sent in the past 2 months. Between when I was waitlisted, no calls, no emails, nothing. I actually thought I lost all hopes at Pitt (my hopes were with a different school.)

This thread has really blown up over the past few weeks...I dont check it for a week to celebrate graduation, and I come back and look at how it's grown! I just found out my friend got into Cornell today too! I don't think she's SDN...but just thought I'd let everyone know. but I applied late

so far 1 acceptance from my state school, which i declined
i declined 2 other interviews, 1 other acceptance, and one waitlist from my top choice....so now i am just waiting and I really dont want to go to my second choice but have no other choice so far

Can't you give a person the benefit of the doubt? I posted on the UCSF thread the other day how I knew someone who got off the waitlist, and was completely lambasted (since it was the first mention). Then, others noted getting off the waitlist and I was then somehow exonerated. As stressful as it is, you should be nice!

The only reason I thought it wasn't real (and now I take it back, because I think it is) is because someone on the JHOP thread pointed out that the person's just made the account and his/her first post wast about getting in. I didn't even notice this nuance at first, and had no doubt at all.
