I've heard from some friends who were graduate students there and are now faculty elsewhere that UW's child clinical is probably not accepting any students this year and adult clinical is accepting very few if any. UW's budget from the state has been hit hard, and the whole university is reeling 🙁

Hmm. I'm not sure how true this is. I work in a child clinical lab at UW and I know that the professor is planning on accepting students this year. Maybe not anymore, though, but I know that a little while back that was certainly the plan.

I got an invite to interview via email at CUNY grad center today, so I don't think last night was a mass email. Oh and just got an email from St John's grad school that they won't forward my app to clinical admissions until they receive ANOTHER copy of my transcript updated to reflect my fall 08 grades...WTF? I sybmitted all apps before last semester was over, and NO other school had a problem. And why are they only telling me this now? So here's to more money ordering transcripts...for all I know by the time they finally forward my application to the psych dept. it will be too late t😡

Note: Teachers College has a master's program in clinical psych that is still accepting applications.

Have people been contacted by UF other than e-mail. I'm wondering only because I never got the e-mail that my application was complete and in review. I called her and she said that she had sent it (remember how so many e-mails bounced back)? I wonder if something is happening like that for interview invites. (this is me holding on to a thin shread of hope)

Maybe that's a good thing though...we'll be more motivated and more focused on the one school which may give us an edge over people with several interviews who may give less effort for their second or third choices...Just a thought 🙂

My head is spinning. I just got this email from the secretary at Vanderbilt:

Applications are currently being reviewed and letters should be going out around the first week in March

So...I guess they're not done?

Received a call from the department sec. stating that I was invited for an interview at Marquette University! I will be sent an email with more detailed information but there will be 3 dates to choose from in Feb (I think she said 13, 16, and 23?? but not sure...) Yay!

I cannot be smiling any bigger than I am right now. I just got an e-mail from GSU saying that I got an interview for the clinical/community program. This has always been my dream program...I am so happy right now. It is the only interview I got but hey, maybe 1 shot is all I need...YAYYY 😀

I know that U of Houston will not be extending invites until next week. My POI told me that he would not be reviewing applications until this weekend. Still Hope! It is my top choice.

I got a phone cal from my POI (right after I had taken a big bite of apple, I might add) requesting a phone interview. So, apparently, they're not done.

Oh, and just for the record - my GPA was _seriously_ under their minimum GPA requirement - I kinda applied for the hell of it. So something to remember for anyone who does any applying in the future. Just 'cause schools say they've got a cutoff doesn't mean they'll stick to it. Not that I think I'm a shoo-in for getting accepted, mind you, but I still got this far.

I know I am a little behind the Master's program discussion but CU Denver has a Clinical Psychology Master's program that is designed to prepare you for a PhD. Might be worth checking out if you need a plan B

Mass Email from Saint Louis Univ stating that they will be finished reviewing apps by feb 17, that if you get an interview you will be notified by feb 19, and interviews will be held march 5-7. Nice of them to be so specific, puts my mind at ease for a minute.

by the way, could those who got UMSL calls pm me with your poi? I hope they aren't done yet

I am wondering if this was to everyone of just me but did you continue to get emails from st johns after submitting and paying the ap. fee that they need to receive all your materials ASAP? I got one, and I called right away saying that I had already verified and all my stuff was there cause I hand delivered it. I was told no don't worry, and didn't i see the bottom of the email saying to ignore the message if i had already sent it? okay thats fine THEN i got 2 more emails saying they needed all my materials in WITHOUT that little part at the end and I called St. Johns many times since than and i get this voice message "graduate admissions can't leave a message at this time"

Okay sorry to be so long winded but I didn't ask any other st johns ppl and I'm wondering if everyone got emails like that or if I really need to worry??

To qualify this a current grad student told me that the Psych secretary just recently left so it's more hectic there than usual but I'm so worried they don't have my ap. package!

I wouldn't worry. Every email I've gotten from St. John's was VERY specific in what materials they were unable to find. Before I had sent in my packet it would say what they had received and what they were waiting on...also it was personally addressed to me with the ID number that they had assigned me. Yours is probably just a mass reminder they send out (which I got a few months ago)

I'm going to put in a plug here for a master's program at Western Carolina University. I don't believe that their deadline has passed and they are an excellent program to consider for a backup plan. They only accept 5-7 students so there's a much better chance of getting some fantastic financial aid. Also, they have a good track record of getting students into top programs. I would recommend checking them out if you're looking for some master's programs to apply to.

Completely agree, particularly with the track record of getting their students into great PhD programs.

I never got any such emails, just this one saying they have everything, except my transcript doesnt have Fall 08 on it so send a new one.

For OU (counseling) I heard on Jan. 23rd by phone and interview Feb. 20th.

St. Louis University (clinical) just sent an email that they would be done reviewing files by Feb. 17th and will be conducting interviews March 5-7.

I got a call from GIPP at University of Hartford (PsyD) inviting me for an interview on Friday, 6th February. Invitations for this program had gone out for a week now so I guess they just got to me.
