Is it weird that I saw this thread updated, looked at it and panicked a little bit because I didn't get an email from Case? It took me a few seconds to snap out of it...

So I was invited to an interview at AZ Banner Good Samaritan and was given the list of dates to sign up for. I responded that day, the next day I get an email stating that the date I chose was full. I then responded that I will take any date available to which the next response I got was that all interview dates are full!!!???? Is this common?

I don't know if it's common or not, but same thing almost happened to me. I called the day after and wanted the first date. I was told that there were 4 spots remaining. So I said ok, I want Sept 20. She said, "No, 4 spots available only on November 15,16." I asked if it was normal or not and she said that they usually invite so many and only 3/4 of them respond. This year, everyone responded (maybe because they are so early). I agree that it's weird. I wonder how many they interview.

Don't think it is common elsewhere. Two of my buddies who were invited there are in the same boat. The coordinator says they are now on the waiting list for an interview spot.

So pardon my exact dates but I think it went something like this last year.

Early Dec Banner showed up on PASS. I'm from AZ so I'm thinking what the hell? I wanna go back to AZ ASAP. So I applied and was given an interview with 1 date option. This was in Jan!!

So of course they would not get everyone to say yes so late. Most people already have their rank lists and probably were burned out.

Here in 2010 they are inviting early. So 100% of the applicants invited will say yes to an interview at this point. No one knows if they are going to be 20/20 for their interviews or 5/20.

If you have ties to AZ and are on the waiting list, make it very evident you want to go. It might help. It's a neat place with good opportunities.

They have a 6 year track yet?

I am just wondering if this is a reflection of the program... I have emailed a couple times and have even called to leave a message to make sure I am on the waiting list and have had absolutely no response. Just seems a bit unprofessional????

Hey guys.

When the programs say dinner the night before, what time should you plan on being there? I haven't received the itinerary yet and would like to get the flights set up.
Also, would business casual be okay for this?

Thanks

So far, the dinners seem to be at around 5 or 6 PM the night before. I would think business casual would be fine. Always err on the side of too nicely dressed. ie business casual with a tie

UCSF: Friday, November 12, 2010 via postal mail.

When did you get your application completed and sent in? I guess I'm looking for how long it took for the invite to come for UAB.
