I wonder if those that had their status changed without interviews are going to be placed on a waitlist??? Or, they are just messing with everyone because they know people are checking their portals ever 23 seconds LOL.

I was under the impression that if you interviewed at a school, you're automatically waitlisted if not accepted right away? Is this wrong?

This is what UT Memphis told me about their interviewing. December 1st is when they release their acceptances, if you've interviewed, then you're automatically on the waitlist if you didn't get the acceptance phone call on Dec. 1st. But I imagine every school is different.

To see what they get for their Dec 1st acceptances after the January notification deadline, then they start pulling names off the waitlist for post Jan interviews to fill their classes.

If I have an interview in December, will I find out if I got in shortly after or would they sadistically make me wait a few months?
 
Hi guys,

rejection #1 UCSF

Application completed/sent: Sept. 19 2015
CA Residency
3.5 overall gpa
3.3 science gpa
19 DAT
URM

UCSF was my top choice if accepted but apparently im not "good" enough. Very depressing day. Now Western or USC is my only hope this cycle. Too broke to apply to alot of schools...

Good luck guys.

Going to email UCSF and ask how I can improve my application. I'll keep you guys updated...

That is to be expected. First, they are probably busy picking who is going to get accepted, Thanksgiving is this week, then Dec 1st they will be notifying, they won't know who officially accepts until early January so they don't know if they need to fill more spots or not, or how many exactly. Add in Christmas break and now it's after the 1st of the year.

Hey man! So from what I've heard is that you can get rejected before dec 1 unless you interview, in which case that's like a safeguard that keeps you safe until dec 1. Once dec 1st hits there are no rules to this game - you can get rejected with or without an interview, but you can also start getting accepted on this date. Once dec 1 hits, schools also start making a waitlist, which you can only get on if you interviewed and they liked you, but for some reason or another didn't want to dish out the acceptance. Each school is different, but this is the model I use as a general rule of thumb.

UPitt changed its status to from "Application Denied" to "Received/Application Complete" for me, too. Decision date was yesterday 11/24. I guess I'm not denied anymore? Hopefully it's true someone said on here that the rejection was only a computer glitch. I didn't get any email/snail mail either.

I may think I have interviewed with your friend at LECOM on 11/12. She had that many interviews as well.
