Hi, what were some of the reasons that made you choose USC over UCLA and UOP? I respect the choice you made, but I'm just curious.

do not make this mistake by going to USC. all 3 of your other options are less expensive and far superior

Hold up people.... let's FIRST hear the poster's reason for choosing USC.....let's not go bashing or taunt or discourage the poster for choosing USC before we even know the reasons....

trust me, the only reason anyone goes to USC over UCLA for dental school is if they went to USC for undergrad and have some kind of pride with being a trojan.

Hahaha I figured I might get that kind of reaction.

First off, I am lucky enough to not be taking out any loans for tuition so the cost was not a factor in my decision. This allowed me to look at the schools from a completely unbiased perspective. Secondly, I really felt that I fit in better with the culture of USC over UCLA. Not bagging on UCLA but just my personal feeling.
Thirdly, I would be the third generation in my family to be a student of USC dental school.
Fourth, I wanted to stay in Los Angeles if possible.

And trust me... it was a very very difficult choice.

how do you get a rejection without interview from Western but accepted at UCLA..... admissions is so random.

Perhaps residency... nicknick222 is from Cali. He also mention 3rd generation dentist, so maybe even family connections... think about it.

And another note, Denver was the ONLY school I applied to.

Haha! When I googled western dental school, case western came up in the search, so I assumed. Now that I look again, I realize they are different schools.

Why would they be called Western then? haha

Any thoughts on this interview?? Do I have a good chance at it (considering UOP interviews only a small group of students)? I'm gonna have to spend a bunch of money to make it to this interview...(I have to change my flight schedule for my trips, buy new ticket for SF, hotel etc..)

If you go to their specific thread, you will see that the current class is full and it seems future spots are for the alternate list.

Rejected from NYU w/o interview with those stats? Wut?

Tell me about it. The fact that UMich rejected me after the interview which I thought I did really well was more shocking to me. They interview ~300 people and send offers to ~200. So with 70% chance of acceptance, and knowing people got admissions with their zippers down lol, I should have done something really really wrong in my interview.
Sorry to hear that. Admissions is so unreal sometimes. Congrats on your 2 acceptances however!

I think the CC credit caused those rejections, but congrats on UCSF.

I think so too. Also light course load raised some concerns as it has been discussed during one of my interviews. So future predents, don't just take bare minimum 12 units, lol

You got into Ucsf? I didn't see you list that anywhere above.
