When did you submit? I sent in most materials early to mid August. No invites yet. 1 rejection (GT). Hopefully this is a better week.
 
submitted 7/3..I was finishing up a master program in June. So I was kinda later than I would have like to have been. Most materials sent late July and mid Aug. I also had a MCAT re-take on Aug 5. Also hoping for a better week. How many schools did you apply to @NonTrad16
 
Update:

rejected this morning from BU (big surprise considering I submitted the secondary before realizing that I had forgotten to write one of the optional essays I had been meaning to)

rejections: tulane, BU
no holds (i think?)
complete mostly mid july-early august

Question - do they normally email you if you're put on hold? or do I have the check the portals.... cuz aint nobody got time for that. (except all you crazies checking twice a day 🙂)

Since you had an MCAT retake, your application would probably be delayed a bit, so I would keep your head up. Certainly seems easier to load the MCAT score than deal with delays with LORs, etc. I applied to 21 so far (19 MD, 2 DO). I have 2 DO applications in the works (TouroNY was delayed in sending out their secondary, and another that I've been procrastinating. Finally have a good response for their essay!). With GT's rejection I feel like my application is going to be nearing a legit-review at more places very soon. Scary.

I think it's too variable to predict. I'd just check the portals occasionally. (As a crazy person: I've spent soooo much time and money over the past year between prerequisites/MCAT/lost work hours, etc... I need some gratification, and I need it now! 🙂)

All Michigan MD schools (IS). Normally "complete" doesn't mean the same day I sent my secondary but my secondary was the last thing pending at all schools so I'll just give those dates. I honestly don't know the complete date.

School 1: Secondary received 7/27, submitted 8/3
School 2: Secondary received 7/17, submitted 7/18
School 3: Secondary received 7/22, submitted 7/26
 
Is there ever a point where it's a good idea to call a school to check on the status of your application? I've been "under review" at some places for over two months, and I'm curious about what's going on (silent rejection, etc.); but I don't want to contact schools if it will/could end up hurting me.

Yeah I don't know why I got it so early either. It hurt a little bit, as I probably won't be matriculating at that school, but whether you send it at 3 am or 6 pm doesn't make it any easier to swallow lol.

I could've been finished by August yet I ended up with a September completion. It was only one prof that held up the process, and I told her months in advanced how early I needed her referral. Appreciative for her letter as I know her very well, but come on...🙄

Nah. It does take a while. It's not a linear process. Some people don't hear news until like December, lol.

2. Not being outright rejected

Feeling similarly. I got the GW hold awhile ago, and a recent (semi-expected) GT rejection. One DO school I've been complete at for 6 weeks has been sending out invites to others complete after me, while I'm hanging around with nothing. My GPA is average, my MCAT is well above avg, and I'm IS, so... it makes me feel 'blah!'

i'm still doing secondaries even though the school semester has started so i've been behind on my school work. had to crank out an 8 page paper yesterday. gonna channel that swiftness into hopefully finishing my 1 or 2 secondaries today lol

Totally joining this thread because all my school-specific ones don't keep me occupied with all my constant refreshing (that's scary, I know).

5 IIs (two state schools), no rejections, 9 MD opportunities left (despite radio silence for weeks), LizzyM ~69.

Nope, I'm a CA resident. Super exited to visit NY though - this will be my first time!

Thank you!! I was complete 8/27 and heard back 3 weeks later. I'm over-the-moon about UCSD as it is my first choice school by a long shot. Totally broke down and ugly-cried at work when I got the II. :hilarious:

Good luck to you. I hope you hear good news from Western Michigan soon. Are you from AZ? Looks like we applied to similar schools. I haven't heard back but my LizzyM is low. When are you complete? I am hoping for good news soon.
