Acceptance #1: UK found out by email 12:01 am and got a phone call
Acceptance #2: CDMI found out by email 8:51 am

Waitlisted at OSU (in state)

Also contacted by MUSoD that my application will remain active (I didn’t interview there.)

I think it's kind of ridiculous that we are asked to submit deposits so soon. Even though I haven't heard back from 5 schools and got into my top choice, I would still like to see what happens with the other schools which I didnt hear from. My top choice is asking me to submit my deposit by dec 31st at the latest.

I know I should probably post this on its own forum post, but does anyone know any good books to prep for D1? gross anatomy, immunology, and histology? Any info would be a great help

Think of it from a business standpoint. One kid gets into school A Dec 1 but B in Feb. If school A doesnt make the student pay the down deposit and they wait for 3 months, then the university is out $300k.

I'm going to stop you right here! Please, please, please do not spend your gap year reading up on subjects to prep for D1. Enjoy your break before school starts because once it does, you're not going to have that much free time anymore. Yes, these books might make the classes easier at first, but the classes are going to be way more in-depth than any of the reading you do to "prep" for D1. Enjoy your family, go see new places, and enjoy not having multiple responsibilities to take care of each and every single day. You'll thank me this time next year.

Did anyone receive a rejection or waitlist from Stony Brook? My portal still shows 'Invited to Interview' and I haven't received any emails or phone calls. I'd like to at least know where I stand.

For those of you looking for great ways to notify your parents or friends of an acceptance, you could do what I did and call them and instead of responding with "hey" play the university's fight song! Obviously if they aren't into sports or are unfamiliar with the school thats not a good idea, but my entire family is from West Virginia and I grew up a mountaineer fan watching football games with my dad so when I played their fight song to him on the phone he knew exactly what it meant on Dec. 1!

Anyone else have to double check this morning and make sure it wasn't a dream!?!

This feels so surreal, after we all worked so hard so many of us are moving forward. Even being on a wait list is impressive. I'm so excited to know that we are the future of the profession!

I know that some people got acceptance emails yesterday early morning, which makes me fear that we are indeed not accepted and that those emails will go our later. I hope you have other wonderful choices!!!!

I kinda did this!! I was texting my family for most of them but my moms a UM grad and when I heard from them, I called her and sang the first few lines of "Hail to the Victors" and she got so excited!!

Congrats to all those who have heard back! For those of us who have interviewed and haven’t heard back, is it pretty unlikely that we’re getting in this cycle?

I'm not in the same boat, but I don't know that you can jump to that conclusion. There's are plenty of schools that haven't even started post-dec interview scheduling so there is definitely still time. I know people that interviewed early and got accepted in July to certain schools!!

Okay, here it is... The University of Iowa College of Dentistry Class of 2022 Facebook Group!!

It's great to see the happiness spread out the forums. I do not know if anyone is in my situation but i am really appreciated for any advice for my dilemma now. Yesterday I was fortunate to get acceptance to my top choice school. But the thing is I got interview invite (also from my in-state school) for the post-december interview couple weeks ago and I already confirmed it. I know that I will go to my top-choice school and do not want to spend time and money to travel for the interview. What should i do? just simply do not show up or send them an email to withdraw the invite? What should I say in the email then? The interview is on December 5th.

Thanks for any advices

I would email to withdraw if you don’t plan on going to the school, so they can possibly get someone else who is interested in going. If you just don’t show up, then someone else doesn’t have a chance to interview and be possibly accepted to dental school.

Hi guys!! SO HAPPY for all of you who got acceptances!! super proud and excited for your futures 🙂 I haven't heard back from Roseman yet and got waitlisted at Nova, so trying to remain optimistic.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to get "offer made" on your portal but never interviewed at the place or received an email or phone call for acceptance??
I have offer made under Midwestern Illinois and I'm so confused. I never had an interview ....? Lol if you guys could clarify this for me that would be great!! like do they offer acceptances without interviews like Creighton does or do you think it was a glitch with the website????

ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!

I would just wait it out... Then if they send you info about putting down a deposit, and you haven’t been accepted elsewhere, you might have a school to go to. Unlikely, but worth a shot. I’m sure you’ll get accepted elsewhere and won’t have to bank on that though.

Thanks for the input! yeah I agree and truly hope so. Nova is close to home so I would love that and Roseman has an amazing program as well. Just need one school. lol.

Does anyone know if I drop ceramics, it will affect my acceptance? I was planning on taking sculpting and ceramics during spring, but due to a death in the family and having to fly out of the country for a month to take care of things, I can no longer be enrolled. Sculpting and ceramics are not pre-requisites but I thought I would take them to work on my hand skills because I will not have any more classes after this semester. I will call on Monday to see but it's giving me anxiety thinking about it.

Don’t not show up without notifying them. Let them know you’re not going.

You should email them. Here is a quote from Touro's interview confirmation email.

"If your plans have changed and you do not expect to attend the interview, please notify us via reply email immediately. This will allow us to fill your spot with another applicant who is eagerly awaiting an interview opportunity. Your consideration of your fellow applicants is greatly appreciated."
