4/5 yet to hear from UAB.
Got into Penn, Columbia, UF, and Nova.
Hopefully Navy Boards go well next year for HPSP and I will be able to afford Penn!

Congratulations to everyone that got into school on the first! Its the culmination of all of our hard work and determination.

Is it listed on your AADSAS app?? If not... I wouldn't worry about it. I actually dropped all my spring courses, I was only taking classes to improve my GPA and I never notified AADSAS or schools that I was enrolled for spring. You can always call if you're really worried, I'm sure they can give you advice and if it's not a prereq I can't see them rescinding your offer because of that.

By all means email them and cancel the interview. Simple tell them you got an offer that you can’t refuse. They understand offers have been made. Just don’t no show them. That’s pretty tacky.

I agree with everyone else, even if you don't cancel until tomorrow that still gives them a day to contact someone (especially being a state school, I'm sure they have an in-state back up). I'm sure that schools next week are aware that they may have a ton of cancellations being right after December 1st.

I unfortunately didn't hear back from either school on December 1st and haven't had the best start to this December mentally. I am asking this so I know if I should start preparing for the next cycle.. I feel as though my GPA is dragging me down as many of you on here have brilliant minds and have near 4.0s, killed your DATs, and being admitted is as competitive as ever. I am not trying to fish for positive advice only, I only want to know the truth. Is it because I applied in August, my GPA, DAT? Just tell me the cold hard truth and what to do next! I am also worried that my prerequisites may "expire" if I reapply as some schools state on their websites that prerequisites only last 5 years. Is this true? If so, how does one re-apply for the next cycle if the prereqs are expired? My oldest prereqs are from Fall of 2013. Thanks in advance and congratulations to all of you that have been accepted, I am sure you will all be amazing dentists 🙂

Hey there! I dont really have that much advice to offer u as i too, am a canadian who applied this cycle. I actually have the same DAT score as u and interviewed at minnesota also (got accepted though), so its probably just how the interview went? im not saying it went badly but schools most likely rank the interviews so that those who do very well get accepted while those that did "okay" get put on the waitlist until someone rejects their acceptance. U definitely have a high chance of acceptance after an interview, if u didnt get a rejection email, so keep ur head up 😉 Also, i just wanted to say that if u got offered interviews, then most likely ur app. (DAT, GPA, etc.) is appealing to them , so i wouldnt worry about that. Its just that schools dont take in many Canadians so we're competing against each other unfortunately, even though many of us would be a great fit for the school. Hopes this helps and let us all know when/if u hear back from the schools!

Oo I probably shouldn't have reported it huh. LLU does say ceramics is recommended but they rejected me so I thought I would take it for fun anyways/work on my hand skills. I will contact the school tomorrow to see..hoping they don't mind :sorry: Thank you for your input, your response made me a lil less anxious about it

Accepted into Pitt, Michigan, UPenn, UCSF, Iowa, Case Western. Interviewed at 6 schools and got into 6 schools.

First waitlist from Wisconsin.
That leaves 8 schools from which I have heard NOTHING at all (Harvard, A&M, UCLA, NYU, Boston, Columbia, Creighton, Temple). Lol dunno if this is normal but half of my schools basically (over $1000) never said anything.

So lucky to have gotten in as international!

yeah i have withdrawn my app from some schools too. it definitely helps the adcoms and the applicants, so u should do it if ur 95% sure of ur choice!
 
Got the notification from UPS Mychoice the other day but I received the letter in the mail today!!!!

ACCEPTED to the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine!!!!

Just got an interview at MWU-IL!!! Crying rn because the two schools I interviewed at pre-December waitlisted me and I felt there was no hope for me

Notified via email, 3.27sGPA, 3.5 oGPA, 20AA and 20TS, OOS (MI) resident. They had Tuesdays and Thursdays of the first two weeks of January open

Ahhhh I am so nervous, I need to up my interview game for this one so I can at least try and score one acceptance, and I know they have MMI which I have no experience with
 
People who got the Certiphi email today for the background checks, anyone else having problem putting in their AADSAS ID (it says it needs 11 digits when it's 10)?

Yes I'm stuck at that part as well...

edit: Now it says the application station is inactivated. They probably noticed the problems.

$150? Is this Certiphi required for all Dental schools? I'm confused because for one school I was requested FBI fingerprinting, is that used in place of Certiphi or do I have to do both?

There's a list of schools who participate in Certiphi background check. Other dental schools not on the list use a different background check, such as the school who requested FBI fingerprinting from you.
 
Pals! If one does not hear back from certain schools interviewed pre-dec on Dec 1st, what does it imply? Silent rejection?

I didn't hear back from one school and got wait listed at another. I e-mailed the school I didn't hear back from (Minnesota) and they said I am basically wait listed. I presume that when you don't hear back its most likely a wait list but I would e-mail them to make sure!

You should also check AADSAS. I know it seems like a lot of schools aren't really actively using it but for me, for one of my schools, I found out about a decision only from AADSAS, the school never emailed me, the status simply said app denied so I assumed I got rejected

That happened for me on Friday for one school and I got the email today.

I'm in the same boat- I interviewed at Minnesota, but I haven't heard. What exactly do you mean when you said they told you that you're basically waitlisted?

"If you did not receive an email stating that you were accepted, it does not mean that you were rejected. We offer admissions on a semi-rolling process after December 1, so you will still have the opportunity to receive an acceptance email."

^ that was their exact e-mail. Hope it helps 🙂

Withdrew application/declined interviews at Iowa, Case Western, Louisville. Tufts is only school I have not heard back from. Beyond excited to have been accepted and so happy for the rest of you and if you haven't heard back I'm rooting for you all as well, I bet good news is on the way!
 
I thought Certiphi charged $150, but I just got a confirmation email saying they changed me $117. Is that the case for anyone else?

They only charged me $45.75. I think $150 is the maximum they'll charge, and it can be lower depending on your state of residence, number of addresses, etc.
 
I applied to Harvard, UPenn, BU, Maryland, Columbia, and NYU this cycle (i know:dead:), but my applications were completed super late (Around October 20th).
Should I be concerned that it's silence from all of them? I wonder if they're still giving out interviews at this time? Any thoughts on my chances for this cycle? Comments are greatly appreciated! Stats attached below.
(Also I'm new to the forum. Please let me know if this is the right place to post 🙂)

I definitely think you applied a bit late, especially with your choice of schools and your stats. Also being an international applicant I think its working against you a bit. Hope you hear something soon but if not, then apply EARLY next cycle!

When did Stony Brook reply to you? I interviewed there on the first day, but they are giving me the silent traetment.
