Official 2019-2020 AADSAS Q&A Thread

Are the number of overall credits at the very end of the academic history (after downloading verified app) the TOTAL credits of all classes taken or only the classes that AADSAS has on their lists of sciences/non-sciences. I am confused because it is currently about 50 credits short of what I have on my official transcripts. i.e. the 3 physics courses I entered are actually worth 12 graded hours but it is only listed as 8 in academic history. My university operates on a quarter system, is AADSAS automatically converting these credits to match a semester system which would maybe explain the fewer credits?

I believe it's the total number of credits for graded classes? Because I took some APs and P/F courses that weren't included in the "overall" credits.

All of my classes were graded, except for probably two which is around 8 credits at most. I mean the overall GPA matches my actual GPA on my official transcript, but its just the credits don't match.

Question about the AADSAS Academic Update process: When I sent my official transcript originally, it was done electronically through one of the 3 approved services. Can I do the same for my summer class transcript (at that same school)? The academic update instructions state that official transcripts and transcript matching forms should be mailed (and they give the address). If it was ok to electronically submit my transcript the first time, is it ok to electronically submit this one, too? I don't know if they do not want electronic submissions for updates or if they just omitted this to simplify the instructions in the FAQ section. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.
When you submit the transcript electronically, you'll (usually) need to provide the ID that AADSAS provides to match the transcript with your application. When you enter the ID when submitting the transcript, AADSAS will get both and be able to match it to your account.

I took the DAT last October and didn't score as well as I had wanted to. If I submitted my application earlier this month with the 1st score and plan to take the DAT a 2nd time a the end of the month? Will I still be able to send my new score?

I've already submitted an application a few months ago but I wanted to add a new volunteering experience on AADSAS. I input the hours/contact info and typed THREE words inside the description box. I clicked "save and continue" thinking I can go back and edit the description later like I was previously able to do, but the new experience is GREYED OUT and it won't let me edit or delete the experience! To clarify, I did NOT click the "update my application" button so as far as I know, I did not officially submit any additional information and I should be able to edit the new experience.

Has this happened to anyone? It's already after business hours so I can't get a hold of someone from AADSAS at this very moment, but if anyone is able to shed some light that would be great. I would really hate if I'm stuck with a three-word description for this amazing volunteer event :'(

Not sure if this helps you, but I'm in the same exact boat so I completely understand your panic. I inputted less then desired for the experience description and now I can't edit it. I sent two emails to AADSAS inquiring on if I could edit, but they told me that I can't edit it further (although they didn't clarify whether that was for the experiences I submitted or for the experience I just added..) However, know that as long as you don't hit the Update button, the schools won't receive your three word experience description. I plan on emailing them again to inquire further as it is ridiculous that you can't edit a new experience you haven't sent out yet.

Unfortunately, AADSAS still says changes cannot be made once an application has already been submitted - once you hit the "save and continue" button, it's basically set in stone. I feel like AADSAS definitely dropped the ball in their explanations & could've provided more of a clear warning....all it says is "Once you have submitted, you will be able to add more Experiences, but you will not be able to update or delete completed Experiences" - I'm sure majority of us thought "completed" = "already clicked on Update my application" button.

Another person on another platform mentioned that this also happened to her during this cycle. She went around it by adding a new experience with the same details & correct description (obviously typed on MS Word first, and then copy/pasted into AADSAS). She was still able to get 3-4 interviews despite the mistake (& without emailing the programs)! I plan to do the same thing since I still think it's better to have it officially on your application even if it may be a "repeat." I'm still debating whether or not to email each program individually......

In the Program Materials section, some of the schools (Tufts, NYU, etc) make you assign prerequisite courses separately by semester. For example, there is a separate section for General Chemistry I & General Chemistry II because they want 2 semesters worth.

How would I assign my courses if I attended a quarter system school? They indicate that 2 semesters = 3 quarters but don't allow us to assign the 3 quarters worth? Other schools just have General Chemistry listed as one section and I can select all 3 quarters to fulfill the requirement.
Hi did you ever get a response for this? I would like to know too!
