I am current fellow at University of Louisville and although for some reason we are not participating in the match, we are looking for new fellows .
If anyone is looking for clinically solid program , please email me as we have one spot opening in February as one of the fellows is graduating and will have another spot open in July,
This is busy program but really good education and cases i have seen so far are incredible. there is also a lot of research possibilities if someone is interested ( personally I want to be strong clinically as I want to work in community settings in the future, but we have large research department and we did work with phizer and johnson on their vaccines from what I was told.

It's been super chill so far! ID folks are the best. Also glad we save money on travel, ha.

Has anyone been getting new invites lately? It's starting to feel like they're kinda done, but I'm holding out hope for one or two more I really wanted to hear from!

Maybe try sending a letter of interest? I sent one out to a program I wanted two weeks ago, but have yet to hear back. As long as it's short and simple, I don't think it'll hurt just to put us on their radar.
 
Agree that everything has been pretty chill so far. This round has felt way more laid back than residency interviews. I’ve been doing a fair amount of just geeking out with interviewers about cool cases or what we love about ID.

I did get one today (will add to the list below), but other than that it’s been pretty quiet for a while now. Definitely feels like things are wrapping up to me at least.

Haha, yes, same here. I sent two a little while back, one of which was successful at getting a response and one that was presumably left on read, ha. I'm at the point now where I feel I have more than enough invites, and I'm fairly happy with where I stand! Just wanted a full lay of the land of potentiality. Happy at this point just to see where the cards fall!

I’ve been emailing a thank you to everyone. Idk if it will make a huge difference, but it takes very little time and can’t hurt.

Is it just me, or are the interviews almost so chill and basic, that it's hard to gauge 😅? I've been asked the same questions every time lol. 🤷‍♂️

Definitely not just you! Sometimes 30 minutes go by and we just talked about cycling or food and suddenly, it's over, and I have no idea if they think I'd be a good ID fellow or just a good friend, hahaha. Presumably, if they invited us, they think we'd be a good fellow - I just justify it by convincing myself that they're using the interview to vibe us out as *~humans~*.

Does anyone have any information about the ID fellowship program at Howard University in DC? I looked everywhere on their website, but could not find any information on the ID fellowship...other than the fact that they have one.

My top 3 have been shuffling around a crazy amount. At this point I don’t even know anymore.

Agreed. And I'm sure my top choices are also a bunch of other people's top choices. So the whole ID being less competitive isn't giving me any solace haha

Haha, agreed. I think the solace is that, on the whole, there are so many incredible programs with truly lovely faculty doing awesome stuff. Not ending up at your top 1 or 2 or even 3 doesn't necessarily mean you won't love the program!

At least this is the bull**** I'm telling myself. :)

To be honest, slightly underwhelming. I got the sense that they're not a busy service, and compensate by having you do 19 months of clinical rotations. Most other programs seem to have a ratio of 12 clinical months to 12 months of research/electives. To be fair, I appreciate that the program director was honest about the program and was direct in saying "We may not be the right program for you if you don't want to be a clinician", but I feel like you'd get to see the same amount of cases in 12 months at other programs that they would get in 19 months.

On another note, anybody getting unsolicited love letters from programs? I haven't sent out any post-interview communications and have gotten two emails this past week with words like "will rank you highly", etc. Definitely taking it with a grain of salt and not letting it affect my rank list, but wondering what would be the best way to respond. Like something generic, kind of vague like "Thank you, I'm interested in your program as well", or just not respond? They're programs high on my list, but I also don't want to show them my hand at the same time.

Thanks for the honest response. I was told to expect these emails within the next couple of weeks. If you're genuinely interested in ranking them at the top, then I would mention that, since it might be able to help you. Otherwise, I would keep it vague and just thank them for their time and consideration.
 
Did everyone use the same NRMP from the residency match for the fellowship match?
 
Anyone else here interview at Indiana? They said on my interview day that they’d organize a fellow meet and greet later but I haven’t heard anything from them.
 
What's your opinion about UF gainsville? Couldn't find anything on reddit or sdn in past and it seems like okaish from interview and website.

I loved them. Big academic institution, plenty of research opportunities and people were super nice! :)

Excited! Anxious. Glad we don't have to wait until March, but also wish it was tomorrow so we can move on with our lives, haha. How about you?

I know. I did one last check on my rank list today and then banned myself from going back to the NRMP website.
