In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

Someone needs to call the MCAT people and demand to know why they've been telling us June 12/13. They must have had a reason, right? I'd call but I'm way too much of a pushover to get any of the juicy details.

I just called MCAT in Iowa. The man I talked to said he was surprised about the June 20 announcement as well. The MCAT office has heard that the scores will be posted June 12-13. He said to keep checking the THx website and that there should be some announcement there when the scores are going to be released.

I also asked if it was a possibilty that the AAMC would put up an official "60 days post exam" (ie. June 20) announcement just to stop receiving phone calls and e-mails and he thought this could be a possibility. Pre-meds are such pains in the as#*es

Because of this whole situation, I actually sent an e-mail to my Dad entitled
"Those fu#%ers!!!"

Did anyone take the test in april without finishing one of the prerequisites?

listen i don't think you all are being pains in the asses. the least the aamc could do is post the official date on their damn website--obviously by now it should be set in stone. and if it's not they don't have their crap together. Here is a math problem for you: ($210)(30,0000)

Did you mean 300,000?

I took it while taking the second level of ochem at the same time...so by April, we had covered pretty much all but the chapter on carbohydrates. Of course, I had an entire ochem passage on glucose on my actual MCAT. The only other prereq I have left is ochem lab, which I'm doing this fall.

Sorry, it was just a little bit of sarcasm...

I took it without physics 2, and I'm taking it now. I can see where it would have helped though, well if I have to take it again in august, i'll be better prepared. But the cool thing about my form though (AR) is it was mostly chem, maybe like 2 or 3 physics passages total.

I still had a month to go of organic II... I wouldn't have minded having the carbohydrates chapter before the mcat, but otherwise, not a problem.

The only Biology I have ever taken was in high school (1989 by the way). I am taking Human Anatomy and Physiology during the Fall and Spring to meet med school pre-requisites.

All other pre-requisites were finished, but the last one was done in the spring of 1998. As you can see, I am one of those "non-traditional" types.

I'll let you all know how I did on the BS section...I will be ecstatic with a 10 or higher!

Hey what is the passage, and or question that stands out most from you MCAT. The one that you just keep wondering about, you know how you did, or if it was just killer, or maybe even easy.

I have to say mine was the agriculture passage on verbal (form AR)

You must be talking about the same one I am thinking of...I felt like I was cruisin' through VR (could be dangerous in and of itself) until I came to that beast...what a bunch of jibberish! That thing kicked the livin' $4!+ out of me!

primer, you really shouldn't be devulging specifics about the test on this public forum. the AAMC monitors this site. just FYI.

So I guess thats why all throughout the MCAT discussion people were discussing their forms. i.e. "form AR,where yall at". But I got ya though.

I don't think saying "agriculture passage" is a big deal...I think it's been said 50 times before already on this forum somewhere. Like saying "that acid/base question at the end", which has been a point of discussion many times over. As long as you don't get more specific than that, I don't see why there would be any problems, right?

I don't even remember what my form was, let alone the questions. I think there was some physics stuff on one of the tests. And I remember filling in a bunch of bubbles.

Also, how about this post that I've seen a million times: "does anyone have the scales for practice test $R", or how about: "does anyone have the solutions to practice test $R. Does AAMC Monitor that?

I had a different form, but I also had the agriculture passage. For some reason, I liked that one (call me crazy). But hearing about how many people hated it, it makes me think that maybe I just completely missed the point when I was reading it and oversimplified... I guess I'll never know...

Those threads usually get closed within minutes of being posted.

Well, I am a new guy, so if I did something to compromise the integrity of SDN or MCAT, I truly do apologize 🙁

Its official! April 2006 scores will be released on the date of the august exam. You find out right before the timer starts for the PS section. If not taking the exam, you find out your scores the day after the aug exam.

I wish AAMC would offer an option to text message your scores.

Or pay a small fee for early release over the phone perhaps?

Now that's what I'm talkin' about...they could rake in some serious bucks by providing this service...not that they need the extra dough (as was pointed out earlier...($210/exam)(30,000 exams))

email people from AAMC say june 20th for online release; phone people 12-13. email people have specifically denied the 12/13 statement. my experience with AAMC has been the email people hold the power. I'm going with the 20th and I'm annoyed as hell. Of course, I'll still check obsessively on the 12th and 13th anyway. Whoever started this 12th/13th rumor ought to be fired or at least sent an angry memo by AAMC.

I'd suggest that everyone stop wasting their time calling and bugging about the score release. My bet is that June 20th is the 'party line' right now, especially since it's posted online now. They are covering their asses incase they can't get scores released between now and then. If they are released next Mon/Tues then we can be pleasantly surpised, otherwise I'm just planning on being tortured for another 11 days 😡

But then what would we talk about, the weather?

yeah, the impression I get is that general topics are ok, but I just wanted to remind you not to discuss specific questions (e.g. writing out the exact question you saw) and answers to specific questions, because that sort of thing is taboo.

And did you notice that the codes posted for each score report were all exactly 11 digits long (and there are 11 days until June 20th!) Scary music should now play in the background .....

That used to be the case in years past, you would pay 15 dollars for THx, now they are so kind by giving it for free, but I think they failed to mention that they raised the registration cost at the same time. 🙄

I am just content that scores will be here on the 20th now....no point hoping for the 12th/13th anymore, the AAMC are mean mean ppl :meanie:

Right. General discussion is ok, specific elaboration about details of questions or answers isn't. So it's ok to say there was a passage about agriculture or a question about acids and bases. Anyone who looks at the list of topics to study knows that the AAMC could ask you about acids and bases, so that's not giving any test info away, right? But it's not ok to say what answer you gave to any question on the agriculture passage, or to explicitly post a question that you want to ask other people about. Basically if it's giving away any questions or answers from the test, don't post it.

Yes. We can't allow people to sell or trade bootleg AAMC tests openly on SDN. The scales are available for free on the AAMC website as far as I know, but I've been closing threads where people try to get answer keys on the grounds that we have to assume that their copies are bootleg if they don't have answer keys with them. If you see a thread or post that violates AAMC copyrights and I've missed it, feel free to report it so that we can take care of it.
