So I have seen posts on the 20th and the 16th but nothing for the 14th. I can't wait to get this over with, counting when my kaplan course started I will have been MCATting (not a word) since October and I can't take it anymore. Most frusturating part is that I didn't have that much time to restudy, but at least I got a seat. Anyway, who's ready to take it, I know facts cold but anytime I think about the test my left arm goes numb and my face droops a little. If only I didn't get that 7 in verbal on June 15th+pity+ (I apologize for abusing smiley faces in my posts there just so cool)

kaydubz - i had the exact same ones as you.
BS was the hardest section. also, verbal there were several i wasn't sure of.

Bio: I had hydro/osmotic, micelle, HCM soy rich/soy free, archaebacteria, limb development, steroid receptors, and cycloheptene friedel-crafts mechanism. I felt rushed on the luca-1st archaebacteria one..i'm hoping I didn't make dumb mistakes by not reading it closely enough.

Vr: Social architecture, math beliefs, greek columns, rosetta stone, geology theory, work hours

Ps: Light/particle duality, impulse/momentum, golf ball, redox solution chem, chemistry with NADH, cathode/anode electron emitter.

did anyone else have the toy car passage with resistance given in N? i think this was the same as the impulse/momentum passage?

yeah I had the exact same test. How on earth did you remember every passage!?!?!

I don't remember a resistance given in N...But I remember that they gave you a frictional force...

hey i took the aug 14th also...i had the version with the terrible BS haha

what do you guys think the curve will be like? similar to AAMCs or do you think maybe it might be a little nicer?

I think there is no way in hell that the curve for BS will be like AAMC. The BS that I took was way harder...

Hey guys. for those you who took the test on the 14th, would you say that the length of the science passages were like AAMC (short-medium length) or more like Kaplan? It seems as Kaplan's physics passages are so long!!

Please answer!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!🙂

I had the brain respiration passage. That had 1 tricky question I think. But it wasn't too bad.

I thought most of the passages in both science sections were longer. BS and PS questions are basically recall and detail questions, though, and you can always refer back to the passage. I usually read the passage quickly, and then when I attack each question I refer back to the passage for important information.

Except for the resistance given in N one, it seems I had the exact same test.
The PS section killed me, I don't know how I totally skipped a physics passage...ahh!!!

O well, is over!!!! I will be working on applications so I don't have to think about this and classes start soon.... so I'll be keeping myself busy so I don't focus on this!....or.. I'll try not to anyways.

Everyone is saying that the Bio is extremely different than what they have been seeing on the practice tests. How is that? Did you notice that too?

electrical resistivity is also defined as the inverse of the conductivity σ (sigma), just found it on google. I've never heard of that before!

Yea I remember all of those...yea got the advertising one.

erm...do they use some passages on more than one test? Because I remember the two architecture ones, uniformitarianism, and the workweek but not the advertising or the monkey, and some people are talking about these like they're on the same test and now I'm losing my mind because I think I might have accidentally somehow skipped two passages!

please help!

hey

some of the exams had similar contents I didn't have anything about monkeys but I had vultures so don't worry op you pbbly didn't skip anething I think the exams were somewhat similar with just minor differences. As for the ppl that had resistance in newtons plz contact aamc and let them know so they don't make the error again because that really threw me off. Good luck everyone.

thank you so much!!! I had vultures too, I just couldn't remember the passage when I posted - maybe partly due to the fact that I was freaking out about having (as I thought) skipped a passage.

Thanks!

ok maybe I didn't have enough time for the resistance question. I know that was the last one I attempted. Yea the vulture passage did seem to have lots of questions on it but I liked that passage so it's all good. We are done guys so now we can just wait. I'm sort of happy that it's all over.

Me too, but the waiting is the hardest part! :scared:

Do you guys think that the resistance problem could have been one of those field questions that they don't score?
It was pretty hard!

in my reviewing i came across power equals force times velocity and another equation for power is current times voltage

at least we don't have to wait as long as the august 9th people heh.

27 days!

Never took Kaplan but the physical passages were a bit longer than AAMC. The Bio was just about the same as AAMC practice CBTs.

Is it just me or are you guys also waking up with nightmares about MCATs? Oddly enough, before the exam I wasn't nervous, wasn't anxious. However, now that it's over with, I am dying of anxiousness. Haven't been able to think about anything but my MCAT scores. Just needed to vent! 🙂

i've dreamt twice that i did well... but both times i'd wake up, realize i was dreaming, and be depressed. haha

I haven't had a dream about it yet, but I sure as heck have been praying for a miracle.

Heart disease? Are you talking about the hydrostatic/osmotic pressure one?

no that was a different one which i also got. I'm drawing a blank abt the details of this passage. I didnt see anyone mention this one. I think was one of the last few passages, which I had to rush through anyways.

Oh okay. Don't mention anything too detailed or you'll get your account suspended for a week.

Maybe there were more than three different forms. Perhaps there was a set of 10 passages that they used for each section, and each form had a different combination of those 10 passages?

I hope so, lol. Oh well I guess shouldnt worry abt it now..cant do anything abt the test now except wait.

That's so funny b/c yes I actually had a dream last night about getting my mcat scores back! But it was a good one. In my dream I was surprised to find out that I did better than I expected. God I hope it comes true!!!

but i mean is that makes sense logically even without knowing the material. The only thing is being able to think about this relationship within a set time is another story.

I've definitely been having horrible MCAT nightmares. I keep waking up almost crying half the time 😛 I must be losing it. At least it's over (for now anyways 😀)

guys on amcas I put that I was planning to take the aug 9th exam, but I took the aug 14th. Should I update schools abt this??? or is it close enough that it doesnt make a difference?

thanks.

I wouldn't think so, since they'll get the scores released to them on the same day anyway. You might want to contact AAMC just to double check, but I think you'll be alright. Good luck with your applications!

So how're all of my August 14th buds hanging on? I've been somewhat worried because the comments have been SO negative for the August 20th exam - I hope that our curve isn't really really harsh.

My God, we still have over 3 weeks before scores are released! AAAAHHH!

haha. Just chill Chad.

Those three weeks will go by quick. Probably too quick. It's hard to believe that it's been a little over a week since we took the mcat.

yea i'm moving in tomorrow... so hopefully i'll be so busy i forget about all this. haha

Chad I feel the same way, the other august test dates had such negative feedback, ours most people felt it was alright. Im a little worried that there will be no curve..

But then again most people are saying that BS was pretty difficult. So I'm thinking the scale for PS/VR is going to be like the AAMC practice exams, and the scale for BS will be slightly more forgiving.

Man, I'm glad I took it on the 14th rather than the 16th or 20th. I feel sorry for you guys!

i want to know my score. i think i did terrible though! im glad you guys feel terrible too haha. hopefully the curve will be generous
