Not making a fake announcement. But as per the AAMC login: The message now says the MCAT SCORES WILL BE LOADED TONIGHT. They reupdated it again.

So that being said.......this will be the thread to post your scores as it comes out.......

Here are the things I want you to fill out:

1. Your Form (If you remember):

2. Your Practice Score Range:

3. What you used to Study

4. How do you feel right now????? Ecstatic, Neutral, Disappointed, etc.

Any other comments you'd like to make.

Did any of you folks with 30+ seriously think about voiding the exam?? For sure, I was seriously going to void my exam. I am so glad that I didnt.

No. even after having to put C on 10 questions with a minute to go and blasting through the confusing balloon passage i wasted 15min on. BS and verbal are my strong sections so glad PS was not in the middle. I was confident after finishing PS, not with my score but that now the "easy" part comes.

32M

note: i was registered for april 2005 mcat. 5-7 weeks before the test i freaked out at my 3rd or 4th sub 26 MCAT practice full length and decided to stop studying and wait for August MCAT.

29N--oh so close!! It's OK though--I'm totally psyched!! Did way way better in BS then I thought I would. I'm not trying to get into Harvard or anything so I'm gonna give it a shot. I'm applying to a mix of M.D./D.O. schools so we'll see what happens! My brain is not working very well right now--I need sleep!

april 05:
V: 6
P: 8
B: 9
total: 23M

august 05:
V: 8
P: 11
B: 10
total: 29P

April test got me so depressed that I actually started thinking of pursuing other professions but I worked damn hard for august and despite guessing entirely on a 10 question passage and half of another passage in verbal, I still came out with a respectable score by my standards. To those who did not do well august05, keep working hard and you can achieve a great improvement. A 29 is a very good score by my standards because I was afraid I did just as bad as the first time around for over a month and half during the wait. I cant explain how ecstatic I feel right now.

1. Your Form (If you remember): BS

2. Your Practice Score Range: 27-30

3. What you used to Study: Kaplan practice tests, kaplan books, princeton review practice tests. LOTS OF PRACTICE TESTS.

4. How do you feel right now: VERY GOOD!!!

yup, during physical (which is usually my best section), I felt defeated and was on the verge of tears. I wanted to void the exam, but knew that I'd never do it because I'd want to actually see what I had gotten. It's not like I had anything to lose (except the rest of my day)- I wouldn't get any money back, and the schools in my area don't look at past scores as any indication. So I sucked it up and finished the exam.

and sooo glad I did- I improved 4 points and 2 letters from last summer to this summer and can officially kiss the MCAT goodbye! (hopefully the cut offs won't be raised to something crazy like 40 this year!)

licious

To those who did not do well august04, keep working hard and you can achieve a great improvement. DO YOU MEAN...............AUGUST 2005?????????

Cuz it says 2004, in your post.

Nikki,

I think 29 is a respectable score and should get you some interviews if other factors in the package are good.

My friends got interviews/acceptances with a 27-29 range.

Hi

I increased my score by 7 points from a 22Q (4V-8P-10B) to a 29Q (9V-10P-10B). It can be done all with the help of Jesus Christ. I prayed and he heard my prayers.

Yes. After my writing sample I was ready to walk out. I got an M, I knew I was borderline illiterate.
But I got 12 12 12 so I'm glad I didn't void it. Hopefully a good letter of rec from someone who says I'm not illiterate and that 12 will mitigate my poor score.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. YOU DID AWESOME. I don't think the 9 will hurt you in the long run. As long as its above 8, in a given section, and the overall is a good score, I think a person is fine unless trying for Harvard or an IVY league. And even then, if they got a 35+ with a 9 in a section, I don't think its completely the end of the world.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!

TO EVERYONE THAT GOT WHAT THEY WANTED:

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew you guys would do it, judging from practices and what not. I'm sooooooo elated for you all. 😀 😀

exam AT
7VR, 14PS, 12BS, M = 33M
I was really happy after the PS section and then was going to void the exam once I finished the verbal, but I wanted to finish the entire exam and learn from my mistakes. I was all set to start studying again. I'm damn surprised since I guessed on probably 3 passages in verbal. I know the VR score and M is going to hurt me, but hopefully the rest of my application will pull things up.

first I'd like to congratulate every premed out there who busted his/her ass studying for this godforsaken test. not everyone is capable of taking the test.
I feel proud of all the ppl who have taken this test.

Here are my scores(this was my first try):

33Q (10V, 11P, 12B, Q)

25-30 on practice tests

I am ecstatic with my performance since it was my first try and I was suffering from bronchitis going into the exam.

by the way, do u guys this score is competitive enough for canadian med schools?

Thanks everyone.

very pissed right now

Form BN
1st time writing
PS 14, BS 11, WS Q, VR 8
Total 33Q

Very pissed bout verbal right now, no idea what the fack happened. PS and BS were pretty much exactly what i was scoring in the practice tests and what i was expecting and how it felt after i wrote it. VR i had no idea how it went after writing, but that was the same as all my practice tests too, was averaging 35-37 on my practice tests, only difference between those and the real thing was my 8 VR compared to consistent 10s and 11s on all practice tests. This fackin blows cuz up here in canada there's overall score cutoffs as well as minimums in each section, and i guarantee most of em won't accept an 8 in verbal.

was hopin for around a 36 total, whatever, i could live with a 33, but that VR score is ass, very pissed right now.....

awwwww 33Q with your break down is good!!!! Don't worry about it. You are going to get in some good schools if all else is fine. 👍 👍 👍

Not really sure about how to feel concerning the N. It's average I guess... I feel good about the 34. My practice score range was from 28 to 38. I was a little disappointed when I first saw it, because I had it in my head I might get a 38. But, I talked to some of my friends who took the test and they didn't do so hot and I guess I appreciate my score a little more now.

Bio 13 Verbal 9 Phys 11 Writing Q.

1. Your Form (If you remember): CT (where are all the other C forms??)`

2. Your Practice Score Range: 24-31

3. What you used to Study: Took TPR. Examkrackers for PS. (didn't buy verbal. bought Bio but I didn't use it because I thought it was whack).

4. How do you feel right now????? Ecstatic, Neutral, Disappointed, etc.

Very very happy. 60 days ago after I took the test I was in the worst mood because I thought I screwed up every section except writing :

For Physical Sciences section I didn't even finish, and guessed on 7 questions. On my AAMCs I always managed to finish this section, so I was very pissed off.

For Verbal section I finished but I got off to a really bad start because I was thinking about the physical science section. I'm pretty happy with a 9 to tell you the truth because it is by far my weakest section.

For Biological section I normally did pretty well, but one thing I remember about the B section on the real MCAT was I didn't find my knowledge on the subject very application. Every question I thought was passage based.

Overall I wish it were a bit more balanced, but I'll take it.

Any other comments you'd like to make.

This is my third time taking the MCAT (April 2004 29N, August 2004 22Q-hardly studied). So good things will definitely happen if you put your heart to it.

N doesn't mean crap. It won't hurt you one bit!!!!!! Most med schools don't give 2 cents how you did on the written, just the numerical part. 👍

Im just surfing the site, still stunned, and numb. Its weird. I feel like its a mad scramble now to get together the troops and submit apps ASAP. This is a weird process. I dunno...

I just spoke to the doctor who supposed to write my LOR. slacker still did not send it in. I feel you.

Most importantly, I don't have to take the test again. For those below 30 that are reading the early posters and thinking unhealthy things, know this: The MCAT is nothing but a mind-screw. You can think your way around it without having to memorize every little reagent for every reaction, etc.

My first time, I got 8s all the way around, so I'm feeling pretty awesome right now. I wish I'd had these scores a few weeks ago (got waitlisted after an interview; they mentioned the low MCAT score) because I'd likely already be in, but the new scores do open up a few more options that I thought I had.

Best to everyone, and NEVER GIVE UP!

I feel ya. Mind-screw is a good adjective to describe it.

How many believe, a person can take the MCAT without much background in the actual courses, but be a good test taker and get a 30+ score on it?

😕

quick question

now the MCAT score is automatically released to AAMC.... does it also automatically go to the med schools applied without my intervention??

11-11-11 R Form BP

Feel pretty good. 34 on AAMC 5. 1st time taking it, took Princeton Review.

yes if you marked it when you took the exam. but some schools need you to check some boxes like harvard, carribean,DO, and many others. take a look at THx

I remember when I wasted my money on the Kaplan course in Summer 2003. The teachers had fairly good scores, atleast 12 and up. But they were just clueless when it came to teaching and knowing the material. I was the one that taught the class and sometimes the teachers would ask me to explain crap to them! I dunno, I know and can do much more than these scores say. I'm just out there in the ether.
I kind of think of this whole process as a draft for a professional sport (hockey, basketball, etc.) Many #1 picks turn out to be duds while under ranked guys turn out to be big stars.
I feel like I'm an under-rated draft. The school that picks me up will be pleasently surprised I think. I have strong ass letters, solid ECs, 3.85 GPA. I just hope a school gives me a chance so I can show them what I got.
