Not making a fake announcement. But as per the AAMC login: The message now says the MCAT SCORES WILL BE LOADED TONIGHT. They reupdated it again.

So that being said.......this will be the thread to post your scores as it comes out.......

Here are the things I want you to fill out:

1. Your Form (If you remember):

2. Your Practice Score Range:

3. What you used to Study

4. How do you feel right now????? Ecstatic, Neutral, Disappointed, etc.

Any other comments you'd like to make.

M Writing. So 31M..

Apparently I have no writing skills... I took the Kaplan course, didn't put much outside effort.

Happy, since my highest practice was a 29.. But I was expecting a higher Biology score.. Hey, thats life.

3. What you used to Study: PR,

4. How do you feel right now: pretty good, I wish I had done better in PS

Form BJ --- 31N 8PS/11BS/12VR

- 1st time writing

- Used ooold Examkracker books to study on my own

- Didn't do any full practise tests but did the AAMC online ones (3-6) a section at a time

I am very happy with my composite score though I was praying for a 9 in PS. I am STUNNED by how low my WS score is! I was an English major and writing has always been my strong suit. I felt excellent after the writing sample so I am very surprised by how low my score is. I certainly don't care enough to rewrite, however!

Annoyed.
26 is in between, not great, not even "good" really, but not the worst case. The 6 in PS should and will be a problem. I'm just going to have a hard time, people are going to give me a hard time. Not very pleased, I would have preferred a really bad score, not something mediocre.

Summary:

Breakdown: PS: 14 / VR: 12 / BS: 13 / WS: R

1. Your Form (If you remember):
CT (Took it in Connecticut, too... heh)

2. Your Practice Score Range:
All over the place. 31 on Kaplan diagnostic, 34-38 on AAMC, 33-37 on Kaplan FL 1-5

3. What you used to Study: Kaplan and Examkrackers (I still think EK V101 sucks 😉 ) Also AAMC practice tests.

4. How do you feel right now????? I feel wonderful...!!! I can sell all of those freaking test prep books now.

Any other comments you'd like to make. I'm going to Disney World...! Don't underestimate the value of a well-packed, yummy lunch on test day. I had a salad with one of my favorite dressings and a roast beef sandwich trimmed with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. (No mayo b/c of the L-tryptophan...) Delicious.

I thought I had done better than a Q on the WS, apparently not. i'm so extremely disheartened by the PS score. coming out of the exam, i thought I had bombed it but was hoping for at least a 9 or something. this result fell within the range of AAMC 7 and 8 i think. looks like i'll be retaking it. Fu<k.

hey sensesfail, congrats on your score man. i knew when you were posting your practice scores that you would slay the exam, and it looks like you did. 👍

Try your go at applications. 28Q will most likely get you in somewhere if everything else is ok. Don't retake unless absolutely necessary. Lots of people get in with 28s.

4. I'm pretty happy with my score...well rounded but could of wish it been a little higher. Little disappointed with the sciences but its ok. And I really didnt think I could even get a 7 or 8 on the verbal. That verbal section of form FL was super hard. 🙂

yeah i dunno what to do now. i've submitted my application already. if and when i do get the interview, i won't even know if i get in till may. that leaves me with the little conundrum of whether i should take the test again in april, or wait it out till the summer. i'd really like that summer to go do research or something, but i just might not be able to - again.

Very happy for those of you who got the score they wanted (or better). Congrats. Those of you who are disappointed, I'm still pulling for you... good luck.

Wanted the extra point for a nice 10 in physical sciences, but after graduating in 2003 and not doing any physics since right before the MCAT in 2001, very happy the score didn't go down! I studies my rear off to regain everything I'd lost in 4 years, so I'm not going to complain. Now to see if those three points are enough...

Not even for a second. 🙂

Not cause I thought I'd do well, but because I was prepared to feel like I had been mentally assaulted after the test based on the stories people told me (and they ended up doing fine).

I am in a similar boat. I would rather not put up my scores, but I feel as if I had the wind knocked out of me. Time to do some damage control and call my top choice.

I'm in the same boat. Its like the AAMC lives in a totally different universe than us when they grade the answers.
Like, What color is the sky?
A. Blue
B. Gray
C. Black
D. Green
You'd like to say Blue, but NOOOO.....you're in the AAMC's universe. Damn I hate this crap.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!~!!! I'M SO HAPPY~!!!!!!!!

Verbal Reasoning 11
Physical Sciences 10
Biological Sciences 11
Writing Q
= 32Q!!!!!!!

This is my first time writing.

1. I had form AJ
2. My practice score range was about the same for all the AMCAS practice (3R, 4R, 5R, 6R). However, a few days before I wrote the MCAT, I did the Kaplan test on the CD, and I got somet 😀 hing like 22 or 23, and that TOTALLY blew my confidence for the test. I had no idea how I would actually do and so this is EXCELLENT!!!
3. I used the Kaplan book to study, although I really didn't study as much as I wanted to. I thought that might be bad, but things turned out well in the end!
4. I haven't been this happy in a LONG time, this is AWESOME!!! 😀 😀 😀

Good luck to everyone else with your results!!!

EK101 verbal
AAMC FLtests 4-8

4. How do you feel right now?????
I ran around my apartment, both arms up in the air a la Rocky making high pitch noises. How the *&^% do you think I feel? 😍 🙂

Did anyone see that acceptance speech from Roberto Benigni a fews years ago when he won an oscar for best actor (Life is Beautiful)? I felt like that.
Here's the speech:

"This is a terrible mistake, because I used up all my English! ... I would like to be Jupiter and kidnap everybody and lie down in the ground making love to everybody - because I don't know how to express - it's a question of love. You are really... this is a mountain of snow, so delicate, the suavity and the kindness, it is something I cannot forget!"

A score below your expectations does not mean you're stupid at all. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the MCAT doesn't measure intelligence, it only measures how well you can take a standardized test. Anyone can have a bad day.

April 2005 score: PS 10, VR 6, BS 10. total 26M

my overal score increase 2 point, but my BS went down 2 points, however, my weakest area in my april test, verbal, went up from 6 to 10, is that good? does most of school look at the best of three sections?

My test form: FL
My practiced exam score: 26-28
Study method: AAMC tests and review book

My feeling: well, I hope to get a 30, but well, I guess 28 is ok, as long as my verbal improves since English is my second language, I didn't study ENglish until I was 15, so I guess I'm ok.

What's wrong with a 29??? Many of my classmates would have done sinful things for that score before they were accepted. Wait 'til you study your butt off for a histology or anatomy exam and somehow only manage a 58%. Then you can bemoan your fate. You're just fine.

2. Your Practice Score Range: 36-43

3. What you used to Study: Some Kaplan online, AAMC full lengths, audio osmosis CDs. I did some pretty hard core reviewing in cycles beginning in December. By the time summer came around I was hitting most of the material the third or fourth time and could focus on strategy and performance techniques.

My tip for physical sciences: if you think pacing is your problem, don't work on trying to answer the questions faster. Work on internalizing the concepts and standard question types. Drilling material untill I could rattle it off in my sleep was the only thing that made a difference in my Physical sciences pacing, and that's where the 15 came from.

4. How do you feel right now????? Pretty neutral, I scored right about in the middle of my practice score range. I was worried about verbal because I got off the pace on the second to last passage, and ended up just filling in C for the last set. I'm just glad to have a good score.

4. How do you feel right now????? SO incredibly confused - i kind of just made the cutoffs for canadian med schools and feel like i could have done better - it was my first time so i guess it could have gone worse

well an hour later and i'm no longer confused - just really really disappointed. it sucks knowing you're going to have to go through the same crap next summer.

and i'm mainly re-posting to say congrats to all those that did well - i forgot to the first time - some of these scores are amazing 🙂

1. Form E(K) [i.e., definitely E_ ]

2. On Kaplan practice tests, I was lucky to break 30. I did three AAMCs, and scored in the 33-35 range.

3. I used Kaplan Comprehensive review, old Kaplan tests (probably the least useful, as they were too difficult and focused too much on computation), referred to textbooks from class, and ponied up for 3 AAMC exams.

4. At first neutral, then tentatively happy, and then after spending a couple minutes checking out some school stats pretty darned happy. I (hope) I'm competitive as an out-of-state non-trad at some private NYC schools (namely MSSM, NYU, and Einstein). I'd say my average verbal score from practive exams is one point higher, so if I could have scored 34 then I would feel confident about NYC schools (and even be average at Cornell). Instead, I'll be a bit more nervous about it and apply early next summer. But it could have been much worse, as evidenced by some of my practice section scores . . . The most important thing is I'm getting in somewhere; I'm pretty happy.

Have fun duking it out over first-tier slots. Tier 0-2 is A O-K !!!

Hey man,

You're probably feeling like you wasted an entire summer since you didn't improve (other than WS). But a 29 is a good score and the "R" certainly helps. Remember the average is a 24, and SDN doesn't represent the average. It'll take some time, but don't feel so down on yourself. You definetly have a shot at a lot of schools with a score like that.

Best of luck,
