This is the official countdown thread for the August 2006 MCAT score release. Scores are supposed to be released on October 14th.

thanks guju for letting me take over 😎

YES!!! The 6 week mark!! How hot is that?

They are probably just finishing up the essay grading now. The curves have been generated and the numbers assigned.

Then they will spend five and 1/2 weeks sitting one their bags of money and laughing.

How do these people sleep at night? Like McBain: on top of a big pile of money with many beautiful ladies.

Checked THx. No scores yet.

LOL..yes I check AMCAS at least twice a day, it's become a sort of ritual for me. But I am seriously dreading it. I took it last August and got a 20, what if I get a 25,26, or lower? I am a sh*thead who does poorly regardless of whether I feel confident or not after taking a test! AARGH

Can we be sure that AAMC will actually release MCAT scores on October 14th or will they just play cat and mouse again like they did with the poor April MCATers (based on previous threads about release speculation/uncertainty)?

--1 week to receive all the exams.
--3 days to have 30 people run them (they should be able to pay them for $220x35k test takers)
--3 days to figure out the curve
--1 week to work out problems

MCAT scores released w/o essay grades in 3 weeks! What am I missing here? Why does this take 8 weeks?

For the past few MCAT administrations, the scores have been released the evening prior to the posted date. At least this is true for the 2005 exams and the April 2006.

Anyone want to guess where they are in the process now?

I say they're already ready to be mailed out. They're just waiting til the horses grow up enough to sent them off on pony express. Telegram!

to think our scores are in an envelope in some highly secured vault or something...gosh i just wanna see those magic (hopefully!) numbers and that one letter

I hate to be "that guy" but...

They actually say "August 2006 MCAT scores will be available on or about October 14, 2006."

Its that pesky word "about", which could mean before or after.

most likely before since there are deadlines to be met shortly after 🙂

I have a question--do we need to register an account to see our scores? I'm getting confused about the password thing. I don't remember receiving or making a password. I only have the ID from my slip, which I think I gave back to them?! What exactly is the procedure for checking scores?

And I felt down today since my friend thought it was great and her practice scores were all like 36's and she said her target score was 42...While mine is a 32 .... =( *cries*

really, i have not met a person that has said the bio wasnt a toughy, the zebra fish and those damn iron related proteins. DId anybody here though the bio was a breeze?

Bio was NOT a breeze for me. Luckily I didn't have anything about zebra fish (Nikki has showed a lot of hatred towards this). Was the zebra fish topic also covered in some VR? I didn't have either.

physics was very very iffy for me...almost brokedown after, but i kept it together...verbal, bio very good i think...writing sample, good but very stressful...thank God for computerized mcat! took only 5 hours!!

It's strange that it's such a good thing it took only 5 hours, that's a crapload of time... but yes, for the MCAT, that's good.
