This is the official countdown thread for the August 2006 MCAT score release. Scores are supposed to be released on October 14th.

What do you guys think the odds of getting the scores before even the 13th? Like during next week, or *gasp* tonight or tommorow? That would be sweet if they would throw us a bone like that, as congrats for taking the last ever paper MCAT.

although it would be funny if they finally started cutting down on their grading times the last time they had to do it

Why is that so 😕 ?

They told us when the scores would be released almost two months ago. Maybe they have the scores faster than they predicted. Some of the tests were taken on computer, so that had to speed things up a little bit. I know that Chuck Norris would have his score by now, or he'd round kick the MCAT so hard it turned into the GRE.

I'm trying to think positive about my score, but time has only made me feel worse about it. I'm ready for them them to put an end to this MCAT neurosis that is taking hold. Seriously.

Why would we get congratulated ? 😕 That's what my quizzical icon meant... 🙄 There's no need for me to nit-pick in a thread like this... I apologize 🙂

i cant take it!!!!! even though i know its bad news
i had an mcat dream last night, my scores cam up on the computer and they were really ad, like a 24, but then they changed to a 34 because for some readon you had to wait a certain amount of time for your real score to come up. Yikes maybe its a sign im going to have to retake bc i did so bad this time, and that next time i will do ok🙁 🙁

It feels like six years! Last week was fine because I had 4 exams and a ton of stuff to do, so last week flew by. But this week I have nothing! I need a new hobby to keep my mind occupied...hmm...maybe...alcoholism? 😳

UMP, It's all good. BTW, I laugh every time that I see your icon. I've got a daughter who loves Elmo, so for some reason Elmo packing heat cracks me up.

Not really, but I'm laughing. So I guess it's funny in an improper way. I was reading another thread titled something along the lines of "The MCAT raped me." That kept me amused for a while. There was some heated debate in there. People were getting nasty. Makes for some good, interesting reading.

Lucky for me my job starts a week from Monday, so I want this week to go by as slowly as possible... but I want my scores! Ah, the good ole' double edged sword.

Does anyone else feel like waiting for your MCAT score to pop up on the THX website is like randomly pulling a slot machine and having no clue whether you'll win a grand or win nothing.

Hopefully my slot machine will be greater than

hahah, just set your homepage to the mcat score website. but i have a feeling that the aamc test producers didn't bother making up new exams for this testing period.

you'd also think that they would have a computer program to check and normalize all of the scores. i mean c'mon, we're in the year 2006 so they'd better stop using 20 year old technology.

6 more days, i'm starting to get a little worried. i don't want to have to retake this.

i still don't know at what score i'll consider a retake.

oh gawddddd cant sleep cant eat cant think....top off the sundae with finals week at my quarter system school...AAAAHHHHHH...im not allowed to check scores until my last final, thankfully thats Thursday so i don't have to hold temptation too much. I just dont want to screw up my finals too. Funnily enough, i dont feel anything, its all subconscious, i.e., no motivation to do anything but sit around tho i dont feel anxiety. JUST WANT THIS TO BE OVER!!!
Anyway, good luck everyone :luck: may this next weekend be a celebratory one!

I do...its sick feeling + nausea. so i jump for something distracting like tv or music or random wikipedia searches. not good when i should be studying for a biochem final.

yeah well i can't think of mcat this week. i have a mondo biochem test, a paper, and a crucial anthro test and then friday is fall break...plus i'm sort of in a fight with one of my best friends. so for once, i can say mcat is not priority. so moral of the story: pick a fight, it passes time. not really. good luck to all

Yes!!! I was going to ask the same thing... Right after I took the MCAT I was like, okay, well, that wasn't quite what I wanted but I think I might have done okay...

Now, it's like, OMG I totally f***ed up everything. :barf:

I think on Friday / Saturday (whenever our scores actually come out, I'm banking on Friday night), it'll be more like this: +pissed+

My fiance had major surgery on the 27th... that has provided a major distraction from MCAT thoughts. So, moral of the story: pick a fight or put your loved one through surgery. :meanie:

Everytime I check my score, I put two sheets of black paper over my computer to completely cover the screen and then slowly drag them down until I reach a title. I can't look at it all at once.....might be too much for me, ya know? I am going to do it piece by piece......first the PS score, then the BS score, then the WS, and finally the VR score. I think I might become religious the next week or so (j/k).

You raise a good point-my lap top is new, I'd better get someone else to check my score so I'm not tempted to chuck the offensive marks with computer attached out the window.

This waiting is just cruel.

omg!! I was thinking of doing the exact same thing!! but i was going to use white paper instead of black!! :laugh:

Haha! I am not alone then njmd55. I tried the white paper at first but it just wasn't strong enough.....I am the type that would impulsively remove the paper if I saw a single digit or something (I hope not but I have no idea). I am such a little panzy with the whole MCAT thing. At first I didn't care about it.......I spent the next 6 weeks after taking it not necessarily caring. However, all I can do now is waste my time and think about my score........pathetic, I couldn't even go out last night b/c I was paralyzed from MCAT score neglect. My gf even broke up with me b/c I wouldn't spend time with her. I will have my black paper handy when I get it! Also, does anybody know how I can attach my MDapplicants profile to the bottom of my posts? If so, please enlighten me. Sorry, I am domestically challenged.

Too bad the g/f dumped you. I was going to have my g/f check my score and then reveal it to me in the preferred order. VR first. If I get a 10+ or VR I will be ready to hear the rest. The VR was a *****.

Responses that come to mind each time I see the question "What would you like to do?" on the MCAT THx page just below "You have no scores yet." ---panic, cry, pray, run, act like I don't care. The wait is torture!!
